    摘要: A data driven, multi-dimensional diagnostic method that combines vehicle system test data, vehicle attributes, symptoms, and extrinsic data to produce vehicle system diagnostics. Data are combined according to predetermined equations to yield intermediate diagnostic results. Intermediate diagnostic results are combined recursively according to fixed expressions to produce final diagnostic results relating to the state of the vehicle system under diagnosis. Fixed expressions may be algebraic, Boolean, fuzzy logic, statistical, or relate to an expert system.

    摘要: When mitigating collisions between a host vehicle and a forward vehicle, the forward vehicle is monitored and real-time data regarding distance and relative acceleration between the host and forward vehicles is used to continuously calculate a collision probability. The collision probability is used to calculate a deceleration request value sufficient to slow or stop the host vehicle within the following distance to the forward vehicle. The deceleration request value is transmitted to an antilock braking system (ABS) controller that caches the most-recently received value for execution upon receipt of an execution command. When the collision probability exceeds a first threshold, the ABS is instructed to arm the braking system. Upon detection of a brake pedal engagement, the ABS executes the brake request with the currently-cached value.

    摘要: A vehicle diagnostic system has a processor unit designed to be coupled to the vehicle to receive signals from the vehicle. The processing unit is connected to a long-term memory that stores instructions to be executed by the processing unit. The long-term memory also stores display values capable of being translated into a perceivable output. The instructions stored in the long-term memory include coding objects of a first type that are capable of calling other coding objects of the first type during execution. A random access memory is also coupled to the processing unit to receive a copy of some instructions stored in the long-term memory. At least one coding object of the first type copied into the random access memory includes a reference to a display value stored in long-term memory. The display value is copied into a display portion of the random access memory during execution and is retrieved by a user interface coupled to the random access memory. The user interface is capable of creating a perceivable output based upon the retrieved display values.

    摘要: An engine analyzer senses and displays secondary ignition signals from a DIS engine using a two sets of test leads. The engine analyzer receives the secondary signals from both sets of leads and produces positive and negative peak values for each set of leads during each cylinder firing. Based upon the positive and negative peak values for both sets of leads, during each of the cylinder firings, the engine analyzer selects which lead set and which polarity will be used to supply the secondary voltage signal for each cylinder to be digitized and displayed.
