Abstract:
A method of collecting money or resources from a group of contributors includes accepting a pledge from a first contributor, authorizing the pledge, and converting the authorized pledge to a payment. The pledge provides pledge information including an amount of money pledged and a method of payment. The pledge is authorized by verifying the validity of the method of payment and verifying that the method of payment is able to provide the amount of money pledged. The pledge is converted to a payment when the sum of the amounts of money pledged by the authorized pledges is greater than or equal to the predetermined amount of money. The method is preferably designed for the fundraising field and, more specifically, for the online fundraising field. The method, however, may be alternatively used in any suitable environment and for any suitable reason.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit assembly cleaning apparatus and method allow a cleaning solution to completely fill spaces within an integrated circuit assembly. Such spaces include, for example, the thin space between the die and substrate of a flip-chip integrated circuit. The cleaning solution fills the space while the air initially occupying the space escapes. These actions are accomplished by first tilting the integrated circuit assembly from horizontal. The integrated circuit assembly is then immersed in the bath at a controllable rate to allow the cleaning solution to completely fill the space while the air in the space escapes.
Abstract:
A gutter hanger includes a main body; a rear clip at a first end of the main body; a front hook at a second end of the body; at least one guide tab extending from the main body, the at least one guide tab sized and positioned to align a drive tool relative to the main body.
Abstract:
Compounds effective in inhibiting replication of Hepatitis C virus (“HCV”) or other viruses are disclosed. This invention is also directed to compositions comprising such compounds, co-formulation or co-administration of such compounds with other anti-viral or therapeutic agents, processes and intermediates for the syntheses of such compounds, and methods of using such compounds for the treatment of HCV or other viral infections.
Abstract:
Labels in sheet form are first separated into strips along spaced parallel perforation lines extending in the direction of sheet movement and then into individual labels along spaced perforation lines extending in a direction transverse to sheet movement. The strip separation step can be accomplished with one of three ways. The first embodiment includes a two driven pressure rollers one of which has a resilient exterior surface including discontinuous alternating larger and smaller diameter areas and the other has a rigid continuous surface of different diameter sections. The rollers cooperate to clamp the sheet at points between the perforation lines as it moves and exert to a force along the perforating lines to burst same. The second embodiment involves moving belts which clamp the sheets between the perforation lines as it moves, gradually separating into different planes. The third embodiment includes a reciprocating element with fins and a pressure pad with slots aligned with the perforation lines to accomodate the reciprocating fins. Transverse separation is accomplished by first and second spaced pairs of rollers. The second pair of rollers is rotated at a higher speed than the first pair such that the labels are completely separated. The individual labels can be accumulated on a slowly moving conveyor.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a blind bolt fastener having a core bolt. The core bolt has a threaded portion and a non-threaded portion engaging a deformable sleeve and a body. A protrusion extends from the sleeve or the body to engage a groove in the core bolt to prevent axial movement of the core bolt with respect to the body and the sleeve. An optional drive nut is positioned between a head of the body and wrenching flats of the core bolt. The drive nut has protrusions engaging mating members in the head of the body.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an HCV polymerase inhibiting compound having the formula (I) and a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of said compound. The present invention also provides a method for inhibiting hepatitis C virus (HCV) polymerase, a method for inhibiting HCV viral replication, and a method for treating or preventing HCV infection. Processes for making said compounds, and synthetic intermediates employed in said processes, are also provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a latch assembly that includes an in-line fuse, which prevents damage to the latch assembly and its component parts in the event that a force in excess of a predetermined force is exerted on the latch handle. The latch assembly includes a latch housing and a latch, which is mounted in the latch housing. The latch includes a latch handle having a trigger assembly adapted to retain and release the handle from a locked position. The latch handle in turn causes an arm assembly to cause the movement of a push/pull type cable assembly. The in-line fuse is pivotally mounted to the arm assembly, and positioned in-line with the push/pull cable. The in-line fuse pin includes a sacrificial section that is designed to change in the event that excessive forces are applied to the latch handle. Thus, when a latch assembly operator exerts excessive force in an attempt to move the latch into the locked position, and corrosion or an obstruction are present to prevent the locking mechanism from locking the panel, the in-line fuse pin will fail, thereby preventing damage to the latch mechanism and cable assembly. Once the in-line fuse pin fails, the latch loses resistance, alerting the operator that a problem with the latch mechanism needs to be corrected.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system and method including a latching device for displaceably retaining a panel relative to a frame. The latching device includes at least a bolt which is carried on the latching device and is operatively associated with the panel to prevent disengagement of the panel. The latching device includes at least one pressure responsive device operatively coupled to the bolt to retain the bolt in a desired position and release the bolt when a predetermined pressure differential occurs relative to two, generally opposite, sides of the panel or when a pressure decrease occurs on one side of the panel.
