摘要: Energy storage and conversion systems are, formed when tightly integrated components including thermochemical storage subsystem with a concentration cell to provide very high capacity and high energy density systems. Systems taught here include the unique combination of a thermochemical energy storage module in close thermal communication with a direct energy converter in the form of a concentration cell. A closed-loop thermochemical module receives heat input at a receiving port to drive a reversible chemical reaction. The end-to-end system achieves an ‘on-demand’ functionality because the reagents of said chemical reaction may be safely stored for long periods of time without detrimental effect. When these reagents are again reunited, they produce heat that may be transmitted to the direct energy converter arranged to convert so received heat directly into an electric output suitable for doing work on an external system. Heat from the storage system drives a working fluid of the concentration cell type direct converter to ionize it. Electrons separated from atoms or molecules of the gas at a very special membrane arranged to efficiently facilitate ion migration form an electrical current that is operable for doing work when applied to an external load. Upon recombination with the ions the working fluid is restored to its original state and becomes available for another cycle. Thus, the direct energy converter or concentration cell is also a closed-loop system.

摘要: The present application is directed to providing energy conversion and energy storage whereby inputs of electrical energy are converted into thermal energy which is stored indefinitely in an enclosure designed to retain heat and to prevent its transfer into the ambient environment. Subsequently, when the user of the device wishes to tap the stored energy to perform useful work, the thermal energy is converted back into electrical energy and the energy is released as an electrical output.

摘要: The present invention follows from a number of recent discoveries relating to cellulose fibrils and crystals. Unique properties of these compositions provide for novel structural materials that exhibit extremely high strength per unit of mass. Structures and articles first taught herein may be formed by computer numerically controlled processing, extruding, molding, shearing, weaving, and various additive manufacturing techniques, as well as by other more traditional procedures. These structures and articles may be used as a skin or core in composite constructions. These structures and articles can be used as free standing shells or panels. They may be made into intricate forms, particularly in three spatial dimensions with sonic elements in tension and some elements in compression to realize high performance functionalities. Cellulose matter is a dominate part of these compositions, making the articles fully biodegradable. One can make entirely renewable and nontoxic products depending on the presence of necessary additives.

摘要: A trailer jack including trailer securing hardware, a support post assembly and a wheel. The support post assembly includes jacking hardware and a spring scale. The trailer securing hardware secures a trailer so that it is supported by the support post assembly and the spring scale indicates the tongue weight of the trailer. The wheel allows the trailer to be moved around when it is hooked up to the jack. In one kind of design, the spring is located between the trailer securing hardware and the wheel. In another kind of design, the spring is located above the trailer securing hardware, distally from the wheel.
