Abstract: There is disclosed a receptacle mould defining a cavity in which a receptacle is mouldable. The receptacle mould comprises a guide channel for guiding, into the cavity, an expandable member that is usable to help mould the receptacle in the cavity. The guide channel has a first end and a second end, the second end opening into the cavity, and the expandable member is guidable through the guide channel from the first end to the second end and into the cavity. The guide channel has a first cross-sectional width at the first end and a second cross-sectional width at the second end, the second cross-sectional width being less than the first cross-sectional width.

Abstract: Example approaches are disclosed for manufacturing composite or fiber reinforcement preforms. Liquid, fibrous, binding and potentially other materials are mixed into a composite mixture slurry in a slurry container. A porous tool having a specific porous outer surface portion approximating a specific exterior surface portion of a spatial shape of a final product is immersed in the slurry container. A suction pressure is applied to draw a portion of the fibrous material intermixed with a corresponding portion of the binding material in the slurry onto the specific outer surface portion. The porous tool attached with the wet preform is removed from the slurry container. The wet preform is partially dried into a partially dried preform attached to the porous tool. The partially dried preform is dried, solidified and/or consolidated and/or injected with a resin and cured into a solid composite preform of the spatial shape of the final product.

Abstract: A process for forming a pre-form for a moulded pulp fibre product involves providing a porous mould that has one or more pre-form mould portions that each have an outer surface corresponding to a surface of the pre-form. Pulp fibre slurry is discharged from an outlet; each pre-form mould portion is coated with discharged pulp fibre slurry by moving the porous mould relative to the outlet. Thus, a slurry deposit for the pre-form is formed on the outer surfaces of the pre-form mould portions. Fluid from the slurry deposit is extracted through the porous mould to form the pre-form.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of producing a 3D molded product from a pulp slurry. The method comprises applying a pulp slurry layer to a porous forming face of a first mold, in a first forming step, pressing the pulp slurry layer against the porous forming face of the first mold, while heating the pulp slurry layer and drawing a vacuum through the porous forming face of the first mold, transferring the pulp slurry layer to a porous forming face of a second mold, in a second, subsequent, forming step, pressing the pulp slurry layer against the porous forming face of the second mold, while heating the pulp slurry layer and drawing a vacuum through the porous forming face of the second mold. In the method, a first pressure at the rear side of the forming face of the porous forming face of the first mold is lower than a second pressure at the rear side of the porous forming face of the second mold.

Abstract: A pulp mold includes a mold main body extending along a longitudinal axis and having an inner surface that defines a chamber, an outer surface opposite to the inner surface, and a plurality of channel grooves extending inwardly from the outer surface toward the inner surface and extending along a length of the outer surface. The chamber is divided into a plurality of chamber sections decreasing in diameters gradually and upwardly from the opening along the longitudinal axis. Each channel groove does not communicate with the chamber. A plurality of air holes extend from the outer surface to the inner surface, pass through the channel grooves, and communicate the chamber with the outside.
