摘要: A process for forming a coating on a conductive substrate, which comprises establishing a fluidized bed of a powder coating composition, in which the mechanism for particle charging is tribostatic charging immersing the substrate wholly or partly within the said fluidized bed, applying a voltage to the substrate for at least part of the period of immersion, whereby particles of the powder coating composition adhere to the substrate, withdrawing the substrate from the fluidized bed and forming the adherent particles into a continuous coating over at least part of the substrate. The process enables the coating of substrate areas which, because of the Faraday cage effect, are inaccessible in conventional electrostatic coating processes, and also enables the formation of thinner coatings than are obtainable by conventional fluidized-bed processes.

摘要: An electrical connector adapted for mounting to an electrical apparatus used in either high pressure or high temperature, or both high temperature and high pressure, applications. A metal body is provided for mounting to the electrical apparatus with at least one conductor for carrying electricity to or from the electrical apparatus extending therethrough and a thermoplastic jacket is applied over the conductors to the end of the metal body that is subjected to either high pressure or high temperature, or both high temperature and high pressure, for sealing around the conductor. An insulative material is interposed between the metal body and the conductor for sealing around the conductor. In addition to providing two independent internal and two independent external seals, the glass-to-metal seal limits cold-flow (creep) of thermoplastic along the pin and through the metal body. This feature effectively eliminates the catastrophic hydraulic failures possible with prior connectors utilizing a pin, metal body, and high temperature thermoplastic. Because of the redundant internal and external seals, the connector provides undistorted electrical performance in the most hostile environments of temperature and pressure.

摘要: A powder coating composition of the invention comprises a film-forming polymeric component having a d(v,50) in the range or from 25 to 50 microns or a d(v,70) in the range of from 25 to 70 microns, which composition incorporates by dry-blending at least one appearance-modifying additive component and a further component comprising wax-coated silica or consisting of alumina together with aluminum hydroxide. The appearance-modifying additive may be a gloss-reducing component, a texturing component, a metallic or mica component, a coloring pigment, or a further film-forming polymeric material comparable with the first film-forming polymeric material and differing in coloration therefrom, and the further additive may be alumina together with aluminum hydroxide, wax-coated silica, or a combination thereof. Preferably, no more than 70% by volume of the particles in the film-forming polymeric material are less than 50 microns. A kit of the invention comprises the individual additive components prior to mixing. The kit allows for the flexible production of a variety of finishes from a gloss powder coating composition, for example, a matte, textured, metallic, or sparkle finish, a matte metallic finish, an antique finish, or a contrast texture or metallic sparkle finish.

摘要: Powder coating composition, prepared by process comprising the steps of providing a primary film-forming component and one or more other, different, components selected from film-forming components and non-film-forming components, each said component consisting of solid particles and each particle of said primary film-forming component comprising a solid polymeric binder system at least a portion of which is a film-forming resin in an amount sufficient to impart film forming properties to the composition, the particles of said other, different, components containing at least one substance that, when processed into a coating with said primary film-forming component, provides with said primary film-forming component said desired appearance or performance attribute to said coating, provided that, if the agglomerate contains a metallic or luster component and a fluidizable film-forming component, it also contains an incompatible film-forming component or a non-film-forming performance component, or two or more such components, and comminuting the components and mixing and agglomerating them to produce composite particles such that the composition is air fluidizable and can be applied to a substrate by electrostatic spray and the individual particles in said composite particles are bonded together such that the composite particles do not break down under the mechanical and/or electrostatic forces associated with application of the composition to the substrate.

The decoys are particularly effective for use in farm fields or similar locations where a dispersed food source exists. The illusion of a body of water created by the decoys can focus the waterfowl's movement to that focal point where one or more hunters can wait for their approach. Additionally, methods are provided for utilizing the novel waterfowl decoys.

摘要: The present invention pertains to a powder coating material comprising particles having a particle size distribution which satisfies the following equation: [d(s,90)/d(s,10)]2÷[d(s,90)−7]≦3.5 and in which d(s,90) is greater than 7 μm, d(s,90) and d(s,10) being measured in microns. The powder coatings can be obtained via a grinding-classification process or an agglomeration process. In a preferred embodiment the particles are prepared by a process which comprises mechanical fusion of a powder coating material, wherein the powder is brought to a maximum temperature in the range of from the Tg of the powder to 15° C. above the Tg, at a heating rate for at least the last 3° C., preferably at least the last 4° C., up to the maximum temperature of no more than 4° C. per minute, and after a period in the range of from 0 to 40 minutes at the maximum temperature the powder is cooled.
