The method includes the steps of mixing the ethyl alcohol and water first, then adding each of the remaining ingredients separately to the mixture of ethyl alcohol and water. The composition is then mixed until homogeneous to provide a liquid treatment which, when introduced into livestock, will reduce considerably the length of, and amount of, lot adaptation stress.

    摘要: A method for improving clinical data quality in Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The method provides for the processing of PET data to accurately and efficiently determine a data signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) corresponding to each individual clinical patient scan, as a function of a singles rate in a PET scanner. The method relates an injected dose to the singles rate to determine SNR(Dinj), and provides an accurate estimate of a quantity proportional to SNR, similar in function to the SNR(Dinj). Knowledge of SNR(Dinj) permits determination of peak SNR, optimal dose, SNR deficit, dose deficit, and differential dose benefit. The patient dose is fractionated, with a small calibration dose given initially. After a short uptake, the patient is pre-scanned to determine T, S, and R. An optimal dose is then determined and the remainder injected.

    摘要: A home hearing test for use with a conventional home audio system comprising an audio player and a set of headphones connected to the audio player. The home hearing test includes an audio medium such as a compact disc playable in the audio player and containing a calibration tone recorded at a predetermined decibel level and a number of prerecorded sequences of tones. Each sequence has tones recorded at different decibel levels and decreasing by a step value. In a first sequence for obtaining a rough estimation of hearing threshold level, the tones start at 70 dB HL and decrease by 10 dB steps to 0 dB HL. In secondary sequences, tones start and end with tones from the first sequence and decrease in 2 dB steps. The home hearing system includes a calibration device for calibrating the output of the audio system to the ears of a person wearing the headphones against the predetermined decibel level of the calibration tone.

    摘要: A new technique, called the sensitivity function technique, has been developed for modeling nuclear density tools. Specifically, sensitivity functions relate a change in formation properties to a change in detector response and are based on the first order perturbation expansion of the radiation transport equation. The sensitivity function is a quasi-linear model which works extremely well over a wide range of mudcake and formation conditions, as shown by extensive benchmark comparisons against actual tool measurements. The detector responses are calculated by a convolution of density sensitivity functions, calculated in a separate set of Monte Carlo computer runs, with the formation properties and is extremely fast. Because this technique is both fast and accurate, it represents a significant advance in the ability to model gamma-gamma density tools and will allow the use of fast forward modeling to improve the log interpretation process.
