An equivalent circuit model of a battery comprising an impedance circuit for simulating the electrochemical charging and discharging of the battery is also disclosed. A circuit for modeling a lead-acid battery having an RC network for simulating the impedance of cells of the battery is also disclosed. A method of modeling a lead-acid battery with an electrical circuit comprising a charging circuit, an electrochemical reaction circuit, and a voltage drop circuit is also disclosed. A method for constructing an equivalent electrical circuit model of a lead-acid battery is also disclosed.

摘要: A method for predicting the remaining life of a battery for a vehicle includes obtaining a value representative of the amount of remaining life for a battery in a new and fully charged state and monitoring at least one parameter of the battery during use of the battery. The method also includes obtaining an acceleration factor based on the at least one monitored parameter and estimating the amount of life lost from the battery utilizing the acceleration factor.

摘要: Battery powered equipment is provide with a controller which monitors the voltage supplied by the battery. Should the battery voltage drop below a preset level when the equipment is inactive, the controller disconnects non-essential loads of the equipment from the battery to conserve what charge remains in the battery. When used with a motor vehicle the controller may be tied into the security system and disable the ignition during inactive periods unless the proper reactivation signal is received.
