    Abstract: A terminal unit for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a housing defining a plenum and having a first panel and a second panel disposed opposite each other. The first panel has a first outlet opening and a second outlet opening, and the second panel has a first inlet opening configured to receive a first air flow and a second inlet opening configured to receive a second air flow. The terminal unit includes a sound attenuator including an inlet configured to receive the first air flow and an outlet configured to discharge the first air flow into the housing via the first inlet opening. The terminal unit further includes first and second blowers. The first blower is configured to discharge air from the plenum via the first outlet opening, and the second blower is configured to discharge air from the plenum via the second outlet opening.

    Abstract: A terminal unit of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a fan configured to provide an airflow through the HVAC unit by drawing the airflow into a fan inlet and expelling the airflow out of a fan outlet. The terminal unit also includes an inlet diffuser disposed upstream of the fan inlet relative to a direction of the airflow, wherein the inlet diffuser includes a first layer of perforated metal and a second layer of perforated metal disposed between the first layer of perforated metal and the fan inlet.

    Abstract: A terminal unit for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system may include a housing defining a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber may have a primary air inlet, a plenum air inlet, and a mixed air outlet, and mix a primary air flow from the primary air inlet with a plenum air flow from the plenum air inlet to form a mixed air flow that is output through the mixed air outlet to a conditioned space. The terminal unit may also include a panel adjustably coupled to the housing to adjustably occlude the plenum air inlet. The terminal unit may also include an actuator coupled to the housing and the panel to move the panel and adjust a size of an air flow path corresponding to the plenum air inlet.
