Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a controller for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system. The controller is configured to operate in a first defrost mode or a second defrost mode, determine that feedback from a first sensor of the HVAC system is unavailable, receive feedback from a second sensor of the HVAC system, and operate the HVAC system in the second defrost mode instead of the first defrost mode in response to unavailability of the feedback from the first sensor and based on the feedback from the second sensor.

Abstract: A control system for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a controller. The controller is configured to control the HVAC system to condition an air flow based on first feedback from a first sensor of the HVAC system, receive second feedback from a second sensor of the HVAC system, and control the HVAC system to condition the air flow based on the second feedback instead of the first feedback when the first feedback from the first sensor being no longer available. The first feedback is indicative of a first operating parameter of the HVAC system, and the second feedback is indicative of a second operating parameter of a refrigerant flowing through the HVAC system.

The processing circuitry is configured to cause the processing circuitry to operate the HVAC system using the core control logic stored in the primary memory and the operating data stored in the secondary memory.

Abstract: A refrigerant leak detection system includes a sensor configured to detect a leaked portion of refrigerant external to a closed-loop refrigeration circuit of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system, memory circuitry having instructions stored thereon, and processing circuitry configured to execute the instructions to perform various functions. The functions include receiving, from the sensor, sensor feedback indicative of the leaked portion of the refrigerant. The functions also include transmitting, based on the sensor feedback, a notification indicative of the leaked portion of the refrigerant to a third party security server.

Abstract: A system includes two stage HVAC equipment and processing circuitry configured to receive a call for conditioning and, in response to the call for conditioning, execute a recovery mode algorithm. The recovery mode algorithm is configured to determine an elapsed time between the call for conditioning and an ending of a recent cycle and compare the elapsed time to a threshold time period. The recovery mode algorithm is also configured to, in response to the elapsed time being below the threshold time period, determine a first stage up time based on a first function corresponding to the elapsed time being below the threshold time period. The recovery mode algorithm is also configured to, in response to the elapsed time meeting or exceeding the threshold time period, determine a second stage up time based on a second function corresponding to the elapsed time meeting or exceeding the threshold time period.

Abstract: A system includes a two stage heat exchanger and a processor.
