Abstract: A method of conditioning air within an enclosed space using an HVAC system includes controlling, by a controller, the HVAC system to cool the air within an enclosed space in response to a command from a thermostat that monitors a temperature in the enclosed space. The controller receives a humidity reading from the humidity sensor and determines whether to operate at improved cooling efficiency or at improved dehumidification efficiency based at least in part on the humidity reading. The controller determines an operating speed for the blower to achieve the determined operation at improved cooling efficiency or operation at improved dehumidification efficiency and continues to control the HVAC system to condition the air within the enclosed space including operating the blower at the determined operating speed.

Abstract: A system to control indoor air quality (IAQ) at zones of an area of interest (AOI) is disclosed. The system comprises one or more HVAC devices configured with one or more zones of the AOI, one or more electronic locks configured with a door of the one or more zones, and one or more IAQ sensing devices provided at the one or more zones, wherein the one or more sensing devices are configured to communicatively couple with the one or more electronic locks, and the one or more HVAC devices, and wherein each of the electronic locks is configured to track position and motion of the sensing device that is assigned to the zone where the corresponding electronic lock is installed; and generate an alert signal when the sensing device assigned to any of the one or more zones is detected to be out of the corresponding zone.

Abstract: A disinfection system for controlling an indoor environment of a building. The controller further configured to adjust the one or more disinfection procedures based on the deactivation ratio or the deactivation percentage of the amount of the deactivated pathogen and a pathogen type, wherein adjusting the one or more disinfection procedures comprises adjusting an operational parameter of the disinfection device.

Abstract: An HVAC system is configured to regulate a temperature of a space. The HVAC system includes a single-stage compressor configured to compress a refrigerant used to cool air provided to the space and a controller communicatively coupled to the single-stage compressor. The controller determines that a demand response time period is starting at a start time. After determining that the demand response time period is starting at the start time, an operation schedule is determined indicating alternating portions of the demand response period during which the single-stage compressor is to be turned off and turned on. At or after the start time of the demand response time period, the controller begins operating the single-stage compressor according to the determined operation schedule.

The device is further configured to identify timestamps corresponding with the conflicting occupancy statuses, to identify historical occupancy statuses corresponding with the identified timestamps, and to update the conflicting occupancy statuses in the predicted occupancy schedule with the historical occupancy statuses.

In response to determining that the quantity of particulate matter in the airflow does exceed the first threshold value, the controller is configured to transmit a notification indicating an action to inspect the air filter.
