    摘要: The plug (1) comprises two coaxial parts (2, 3) separated by a fracture initiating line (4). A respective print (6, 7) is provided on each part and is coaxial with the other print. The first part (1) permits the screwing of the second part (3) which is provided with a screw thread (5) in an implant to which it must remain fixed after fracture of the two parts on the line (4), when a predetermined fracture torque is exceeded. The print (7) of the second part (3) permits a subsequent unscrewing, if necessary, for disassembling the instrumentation, which constitutes an essential advantage of this plug. Further, the clamping can be achieved with high precision in conformity with the wishes of the manufacturer, since the fracture torque can be adjusted to the intended value by machining the fracture intiating line (4) in a precise manner.

    摘要: A tool for driving a screw having two threaded shanks separated by an intermediate portion. The tool includes a rod having a tapped end portion adapted to engage one of the threaded shanks. The tool also includes a cage adapted to receive the intermediate portion of the screw therein. The cage is provided with at least one opening containing a rolling member configured to be applied against a surface of the intermediate portion of the screw. The tool additionally includes a tube surrounding the rod and the cage. The tube includes an inner wall having a profile configured such that as the tube is rotated about the longitudinal axis, the inner surface applies a radial force to the rolling member, causing the rolling member to be radially displaced through the opening in the cage and placing it in abutment with the intermediate portion of the screw.

    摘要: Bone screw for osteosynthesis devices comprising a screwing head and a screw-threaded shank having a transition portion having a variable profile between two shank parts of different profiles. The threading has a constant pitch and a constant outside diameter, and includes cutting crests throughout its length, including in the transition region. According to one method for manufacturing this screw, there are machined on the transition portion of the shank threads of decreasing depth up to the end of this transition region, the threads along the transition portion defining truncated, non-cutting crests. There is removed from the threads on the transition portion a sufficient amount of material for converting the non-cutting crests into sharp, cutting crests. This method provides a screw with bone anchorage capability throughout the length of the thread.

    摘要: This spinal osteosynthesis instrumentation comprises at least two modules (1, 2) articulated together by a male-female spherical connection (5, 8) permitting a relative orientation of the modules in all directions, and ring (14) for rigidifying the assembly of the modules (1, 2) in the desired orientation so as to adapt it to the anatomy of the considered spinal segment. The modules (1, 2) each comprise a body (3) in which is formed a spherical socket (5) opening onto an end of the body, and a spherical head or ball (8) of an adjacent module can be inserted in this socket and maintained therein by a clipping action thereby forming a ball joint. This articulated system is extremely flexible and can be easily adapted to the anatomies of the spinal segments without exerting a substantial force on the patient, and can be maintained with the desired angulation by use of rings (14) clamping the articulated connections and composed of an alloy having a shape memory which clamp the balls (8) at the temperature of the body of the patient.
