摘要: A method for preventing the adverse effects which may he associated with the administration of at least one hormone to a subject without detectable cancer comprising administering to such subject at least one carotenoid. The method of the instant invention can be utilized to prevent a variety of adverse effects associated with the administration of hormones, including for example, an increased risk for developing cancer. The instantly claimed method prevents such adverse effects without inhibiting the beneficial activity of the hormone. Further provided by the present invention are compositions which are useful for preventing the adverse effects associated with the administration of hormones. The compositions of the instant invention may be in unit dosage form suitable for daily administration to a human.

摘要: This invention provides a method for treating a human subject afflicted with multiple sclerosis or a single clinical attack consistent with multiple sclerosis with a pharmaceutical composition comprising glatiramer acetate and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, comprising the steps of 1) identifying whether the human subject is a predicted responder to glatiramer acetate by determining the genotype of the subject at one or more single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) selected from the group consisting of the SNPs in Group 1; and 2) administering the pharmaceutical composition comprising glatiramer acetate and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier to the subject only if the subject is identified as a predicted responder to glatiramer acetate.

摘要: Embodiments of a food container including a media player are provided. In some embodiments, the food container has an exterior, and the food container comprises at least one compartment sized and dimensioned to accommodate food. Additionally, the food container includes a media player configured to play media content. The container and/or media player includes at least one device that serves as an input device to select media content in the media player of for later play and activation device to activate the play of the selected media content. In another embodiment the container and/or media player includes two devices, one to select media content and another to activate play of the selected media content. The media content can be, for example, a message from a parent or other meal maker to a child for later play by the child during the day.

摘要: A wireless local area network (WLAN) includes at least one high throughput-enabled access point (AP) and at least one high throughput-enabled station (STA). A STA and a target AP communicate high throughput-related information and the STA performs a basic service set (BSS) transition to the target AP based on the high throughput-related information. The high throughput-related information may be included in an IEEE 802.11r, 802.11k, or 802.11v signaling message. The STA may send measurement reports for an extended range and a normal range of an AP separately, or may send a combined measurement report for an extended range and a normal range of an AP. A network management entity may obtain current status information of the STA and the AP regarding high throughput capabilities, features and parameters and selectively enable and disable at least one of the high throughput capabilities, features and parameters of the STA and the AP.
