摘要: A system includes a wireless device (101) and at least one stimulator pad (400, 500). The stimulator pad (400, 500) has a set of electrodes (404) that are in communication with the wireless device (101). The stimulator pad (400, 500) is worn on the skin of a user. The wireless device (101) is operable to receive an incoming signal and to place an electric potential on the conductors (404) so that various areas of the user's body are stimulated and the user will receive notification of the incoming signal in a completely silent manner. The pad (400) can be either wired or wireless and can be used to deliver therapeutic body stimulation as well. In another embodiment, the wireless device (101) controls at least one stimulator pad (400, 500) independent of any incoming signal received.

摘要: A mobile communication device (100) contains a local wireless controller (114) for operating with a remote audio processor (124). The remote audio processor is used for listening to and speaking with remote parties via the mobile communication device, and operates in a mode having a relatively long latency in communicating with the mobile communication device. Upon receiving a dispatch call (306), a baseband processor (108) of the mobile communication device notifies an application processor (110) with a high priority dispatch notification (122). The high priority dispatch notification causes an active link to be established between the mobile communication device and remote audio processor sooner than if were to occur with ordinary call processing.

摘要: A mobile communication device (100) is attached to an audio accessory (114, 124) and characterizes the audio response of the audio accessory. Upon detecting attachment to the mobile communication device (204), the mobile communication device plays an audio test regimen over the speaker of the audio accessory (210, 212, 214, 216, 218, 220). Once the audio accessory's spectral response is known, the mobile communication device may adjust audio processing filter coefficients used in processing audio signals played over the audio accessory.

摘要: A method and system for operating an electronic device (102) that is operably coupled to an audio output device (104) is provided. The method includes receiving an encoded audio file at the electronic device. Further, the method includes selectively decoding (202) the encoded audio file, in correspondence with a spectral response of the audio output device, to provide decoded audio data. Furthermore, the method includes playing (204) the decoded audio data over the audio output device.

摘要: A universal notifier (115) is individualized with an appended custom tag so that users may recognize calls intended for them. When a call transmitted from a communication device (101), is received by a recipient communication device (103), the universal notifier, for example an existing private call receive tone, is generated, and a custom indicator is generated (117). The universal notifier, for example a well-known sound of the direct connect call (115), is thereby preserved, while adding a custom identifier that individual users can readily identify. Variations provide that the custom indicator can be further particularized to a specific call originator, to a specific recipient, to a group, or to a severity phone call such as a local emergency. Group calls with an associated custom indicator can be transmitted in a group call environment.

摘要: The invention concerns a method (300) for directing users to coverage. The method includes the steps of detecting (314) when a signal strength parameter of a mobile unit (112) falls below a predetermined threshold, acquiring (316) positional information about the mobile unit and directing (322) a user of the mobile unit to a reestablishing coverage area (110) that has a signal strength that would cause the signal strength parameter to meet the predetermined threshold. In addition, the method can include the step of calculating (320) positional parameters between the mobile unit and the reestablishing coverage area in which the reestablishing coverage area is a coverage area (110) that is physically closest to the mobile unit in comparison to other coverage areas.

摘要: A system (100) and method (400) is provided for email notification for use with a mobile device roaming in a loosely coupled network. The method can include receiving (402) a voice mail on a first network, generating (404) a voice mail indication, and sending (416) the voice mail indication through the second network to a mobile device. The voice mail indication can include encrypted information containing a phone number, an IMEI, or an IP address of the mobile device to properly route the message. The voice mail indication can include a sequence number, timestamp, or token to determine if a voice mail is stale. The method can include emailing (418) the voice mail indication to the mobile device.

摘要: A smart call list for a wireless mobile device (12) can include a storage medium (14 or 304) containing a call list having a plurality of contact entries (19) and a processor (302) coupled to the storage medium. The processor can monitor (902) the use of the call list according to a plurality of criteria to intelligently improve the chances of successfully contacting the entries on the call list. The processor can rank (903) the plurality of criteria and assign (906) relative weights to the plurality of criteria to facilitate a selection and order of the contact entries to call (904). The processor can further automatically select (908) a next best number to call if an attempt to connect with a current number is unsuccessful. In one arrangement, the smart call list can use a phone tree (30) in an attempt to contact members of the call list.
