    摘要: A method for closing an arteriotomy includes providing a guiding system and a closure system. The guiding system is mounted over a dilator, and advanced along a guidewire through the arteriotomy and into the blood vessel lumen. The guiding system includes two stabilization wire guides. A retention foot is disposed at a distal portion of each stabilization wire guide, the foot being deployable into contact against an inner surface of the vessel wall. The guidewire and dilator are withdrawn from the patient, leaving the stabilization wire guides in place. The closure system carries a stapler and is advanced along the stabilization wire guides to an extraluminal position. The stapler is then activated to close the arteriotomy. The retention feet are undeployed and the guiding and closure systems are withdrawn from the body, leaving a staple to hold the arteriotomy closed.

    摘要: A system and method for closing a percutaneous vessel puncture at the conclusion of a vascular catheterization procedure includes placement of an intravascular closure device having a radially and axially expandable tubular membrane and a radially expandable anchor at the distal end of the membrane. The closure device is placed, by a delivery catheter extending through the puncture site, with its anchor radially expanded in a location upstream of the puncture site to enable the force of a patient's blood flow to deploy the tubular membrane to a proximally extended configuration closing the puncture from within the vessel.

    摘要: An aspiration catheter is provided in which vacuum may be accumulated within the catheter and released suddenly within a distal region of the catheter to induce ingestion of intravascular matter into the catheter through an open distal port while avoiding large losses of suction common with catheters having long aspiration lumens. Conventional aspiration using the same catheter can subsequently complement the procedure by fully removing the ingested matter from the catheter.

    摘要: A method for closing an arteriotomy includes providing a guiding system and a closure system. The guiding system advanced through a sheath extending through the arteriotomy and into the blood vessel lumen. The guiding system includes a pair of stabilization wire guides, each guide including a retention foot disposed at a distal portion thereof. The retention feet are deployed within the lumen. With the entire sheath outside of the vessel, the closure device is then further advanced along the guiding system, or the sheath is pulled proximally over the closure device, thereby stretching or tearing a distal portion of the sheath. The closure system includes a closure device, such as a stapler including a staple that is actuated to close the arteriotomy. The retention feet are undeployed and the guiding system is removed from the body.
