    摘要: An active matrix liquid crystal display having improved reliability. Pixel regions and a peripheral driver circuit are integrally packed on the display. TFTs forming the peripheral driver circuit are located inside a sealing material layer on the side of a liquid crystal material, thus protecting the peripheral driver circuit from external moisture and contaminants. This enhances the long-term reliability of the peripheral driver circuit. Pixel TFTs are arranged in pixel regions. The leads going from the TFTs forming the peripheral driver circuit to the pixel TFTs are shortened. This results in a reduction in the resistance. As a result, the display characteristics are improved.

    摘要: In an active matrix type liquid crystal display device which a liquid crystal is arranged between a pair of substrates, two TFTs are connected with each of the corresponding electrodes (for one pixel) formed on the substrates. The liquid crystal is driven and switched by the two TFTS. Since a voltage applied to the liquid crystal is divided by the two TFTS, a higher voltage than a withstanding voltage of a TFT is applied to the liquid crystal, so that voltages applied to the TFTs, that is, voltages applied between a source and a drain of each TFT are decreased. The voltages each has an opposite phase.

    摘要: An active matrix display device comprises a substrate having an insulating surface, a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix form over the substrate, and a plurality of switching elements operationally connected to the pixel electrodes. Each of the switching elements further comprise a thin film transistor. The display device further includes a display medium comprising an emissive material that is capable of electrically changing luminous strength disposed at each of the pixel electrodes, and a driver circuit that includes a plurality of thin film transistors for driving the plurality of switching elements. Each of the plurality of thin film transistors comprise a crystallized semiconductor layer, a gate insulating film adjacent to the crystallized semiconductor layer and a gate electrode adjacent to the gate insulating film.
