    摘要: An electronic ballast is provided for improved startup and powering of a high pressure discharge lamp. The ballast includes an inverter, a starting circuit for generating a high voltage to ignite the lamp, a controller for controlling an operating frequency of the inverter from startup to steady-state lamp operation, and a lamp output detection circuit. The controller controls the inverter in association with one or more of a first phase in which the starting circuit generates the high voltage and causes dielectric breakdown between the lamp electrodes, a second phase in which an electrode heating operation is performed after dielectric breakdown and a third phase in which steady-state operation of the lamp is performed. A lamp output determination is performed at a predetermined time before shifting to the third phase, and upon determining that the lamp is ignited the second phase is inserted.

    摘要: An electronic ballast is provided for improved startup and powering of a high pressure discharge lamp. The ballast includes an inverter, a starting circuit for generating a high voltage to ignite the lamp, a controller for controlling an operating frequency of the inverter from startup to steady-state lamp operation, and a lamp output detection circuit. A subtracter 3 extracts a high frequency component signal by subtracting the low frequency component signal from the video signal. A low pass filter 5 having a second cutoff frequency higher than the first cutoff frequency extracts a lower high frequency component signal, which is a low-frequency-side signal of the high frequency component signal. A multiplier 6 generates a corrected component signal by multiplying the lower high frequency component signal by a predetermined gain G1. An adder 7 adds the corrected component signal to the video signal.

    摘要: In a system for controlling a headlight of a vehicle to be controlled, a distance detector detects a distance between the controlled vehicle and an other vehicle ahead thereof. A determiner determines a first target direction for an optical axis of the headlight in a vertical direction when it is assumed that the optical axis of the headlight passes through a target located at the detected distance with respect to the controlled vehicle. The target has a predetermined height above a predetermined reference point. The predetermined height of the target is unchanged irrespective of change in the detected distance. A first adjuster adjusts the direction of the optical axis of the headlight in the vertical direction so that the direction of the optical axis is matched with the determined first target direction.

    摘要: A delay-line demodulator for demodulating a differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) signal is provided. The demodulator includes two Mach-Zehnder interferometers individually comprising two waveguides having different lengths therebetween and through which a light signal branched from the DQPSK signal propagates, respectively. A phase of the light signal propagating at one of the waveguides is delayed as compared to a phase of the light signal propagating at another one of the waveguides, wherein a divergence amount of polarization is adjusted by driving sets of heaters that are facing each other and sandwiching a half wavelength plate therebetween.
