    Abstract: A device may identify a portion of a label-switched path (LSP) on which a simple hierarchical LSP (sH-LSP) is to be used for transferring traffic via a network. The device may determine attribute information associated with the sH-LSP. The attribute information may include information associated with one or more characteristics of the sH-LSP. The device may provide an indication associated with identifying an available sH-LSP or creating a sH-LSP. The indication may include, the attribute information associated with the sH-LSP, and may be being provided to cause the sH-LSP to be created on the portion of the LSP or an available sH-LSP, associated with the portion of the LSP, to be identified. The device may receive, based on providing the indication, an identifier associated with the sH-LSP. The device may cause the LSP to be set up based on the identifier associated with the sH-LSP.

The non-ingress node may identify, based on identifying the resource issue event, one or more notification-requester stacks included in a data structure. The non-ingress node may generate one or more resource notification messages that each include a respective notification-requester stack of the one or more notification-requester stacks. The non-ingress node may send the one or more resource notification messages based on the one or more notification-requester stacks.

    Abstract: In some implementations, a network device may identify a segment routing traffic engineering (SR-TE) algorithm supported by the network device. The network device may determine, based on identifying the SR-TE algorithm, an identification value associated with the network device. The network device may generate an advertisement packet that includes the identification value and information identifying the SR-TE algorithm. The network device may send the advertisement packet to another network device to cause the other network device to update a data structure to indicate that the network device supports the SR-TE algorithm and that the network device is associated with the identification value. The other network device may determine, using the SR-TE algorithm, a forwarding path for a data packet that indicates the network device as a hop in the forwarding path.
