Abstract:
Joint channel estimation and maximum likelihood decoding method for Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) systems are presented. Using this method in conjunction with convolutional coding, robust and nearly optimal coherent detection can be achieved in rapid dispersive fading channels. Significant performance gain in packet data throughput is realized in a system with aggressive frequency reuse. A method for estimating channel characteristics in a multicarrier transmission system comprising the steps of receiving a multicarrier signal, applying Fast Fourier transformations to the multicarrier signal, estimating channel characteristics of a multicarrier channel over which the multicarrier signal was transmitted using a combination of iterative processing and iterative backward processing, and decoding the transformed multicarrier signal is presented.
Abstract:
The disclosure claims a method for reporting short message status and a signaling interworking gateway. The method comprises: S102, signaling interworking gateway receives status report signaling transmitted from SMSC in source network, and forwards status report signaling to HLR in target network; S104, Hub receives status report response from the HLR, and stores corresponding relationship between first target user number and second target user number in the status report response; S106, the Hub receives notification signaling from the HLR; S108, the Hub takes the user number in the notification signaling as the second target user number, searches for the corresponding first target user number according to the corresponding relationship, replaces the user number in the notification signaling with the found first target user number, and sends the first target user number to the SMSC. The disclosure realizes the short message notification mechanism in roaming.

The methods and systems further comprise the functions of causing two images to be displayed wherein the two images overlap with each other, and presenting a logic to determine which one of the two images a gesture control signal is directed to. Additionally, the methods and systems can also comprise the functions of receiving a location information of a first device, receiving a location information of a second device, receiving a distance limitation from the first device, determining if the second device is within the distance limitation, and delivering a message from the first device to the second device if the second device is within the distance limitation.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatuses for reading tags of tag populations are described. Rather than interrogating a tag population in a single query round, interrogations of tag populations are performed using reduced transmit power levels over multiple query rounds, each query round reading a portion of the tag population. In this manner, an overall power amount expended to transmit interrogations signals is reduced, while maintaining a substantially similar read rate as in single query round interrogations.
Abstract:
A method of operating a radio frequency identification (RFID) system is provided. The method interrogates RFID tags with an RFID reader and provides at least some of the collected tag data to a mobile device that is unable to communicate with RFID tags using the over-the-air interface. In some situations, the RFID system obtains the current location of the mobile device and determines the location of a target tag relative to the current location of the mobile device. Locating the target tag in this manner involves the interrogation of a reference tag located at the mobile device, along with the target tag, using one RFID reader. The position of the target tag relative to the reference tag is calculated in response to the tag response signals obtained from the target and reference tags. Moreover, location of the target tag can be independently determined relative to the location of a mobile reader, by using a reference tag attached to a fixed reader or to the mobile reader.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting radiofrequency identification (RFID) interrogation signals is disclosed. The method comprises detecting a first movement of a user in a first direction, determining a command from the first movement, and transmitting a RFID interrogation signal in response to the command.
Abstract:
RFID methods, systems and apparatus for writing common data (RFID information) to a plurality of RFID tags, include transmitting a common-write data signal including the common data to a plurality of RFID tags located in a broadcast field, where the plurality of RFID tags receive and respectively write the common data in internal memory of the plurality of RFID tags in accordance with a common algorithm. A common-write data signal may include common identifier data. Each of a plurality of RFID tags may generate common identifier data by controlling a random number generator of the tag. Each of a plurality of RFID tags may be pre-configured (initialized) for receiving common data and writing the common data to memory in accordance with a common algorithm. Each of a reader and a plurality of RFID tags may include common algorithm for transmitting/receiving and executing a common-write-enable command that enables a common write capability of a tag (e.g., initializes a tag for receiving a common-write data signal), and for transmitting/receiving a common-write-disable command that disables common-write capability of a tag.
