Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a portable battery pack for recharging an onboard vehicle battery for extending driving range. The portable battery pack comprises a case that includes a base joined to a lid by way of hinges. A battery array is housed within the base, and electrical terminals are mounted onto the lid. A charging cable may be connected to the electrical terminals and plugged into a charge port of the vehicle. The battery array comprises a multiplicity of battery cells that may be coupled in parallel, in series, or a combination thereof. A battery management system is coupled with the battery array and configured to ensure that the battery array operates safely. The electrical terminals may be coupled with an external power inverter, or a power inverted may be housed within the case and incorporated into the power battery pack.

Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a sound effect generation system for broadcasting engine sounds outside a vehicle. The sound effect generation system enables a driver to select and manipulate the sounds emitted outside the vehicle. The sound effect generation system includes a wireless sound generator module for simulating engine sounds, a speaker for broadcasting the engine sounds outside the vehicle, and an external GPS antenna for measuring a speed of the vehicle. When the vehicle is turned on and remains stationary, the sound generator module simulates an idling internal combustion engine. When the speed of the vehicle increases, revving of the internal combustion engine and transmission shifting are simulated. When the speed of the vehicle decreases, a decelerating internal combustion engine is simulated. The sound effect generation system includes settings that may be accessed by a wireless mobile device whereby the driver can manipulate the engine sounds.

Abstract: An apparatus and methods are provided for a foundation vent cover to be installed onto foundation ventilation openings of crawlspaces, garages, and buildings. The foundation vent cover comprises a mesh screen for covering a foundation vent opening and a supportive frame for retaining the mesh screen in an extended configuration over the foundation vent opening. The supportive frame may be made of a metal or any of various plastics. The mesh screen is made of a material that provides an aesthetically appealing appearance to the foundation opening while also allowing an optimal airflow through the foundation opening. The supportive frame includes holes to receive fasteners for attaching the foundation vent cover over the foundation opening. The fasteners may be wood screws, sheet metal screws, self-drilling screws, or threaded bolts and nuts. The holes may be counterbored or countersunk to hide at least a portion of the heads of the fasteners.
