摘要: A patient interface device (8) includes a cushion assembly (100) that is customizable to compensate for anatomical variances from patient-to-patient and, therefore, provides an effective seal with the patient's face. The cushion assembly includes a cushion member (102) having a first side structured to engage the patient's face, and a second side disposed opposite the first side, a plurality of plate members (108, 110, 112, 114, 116), and an adjustment mechanism (120, 122, 124). The adjustment mechanism is structured to adjust the position of the plate members, thereby changing the shape of the cushion member to generally conform to the patient's face.

摘要: A valve arrangement (60) is for a patient interface device (10) having a frame portion (16). The valve arrangement includes a valve member (36) having a coupling portion (44) and a blocking portion (46) extending from the coupling portion. The coupling portion of the valve member is structured to be coupled to the frame portion. The blocking portion is structured to move between a first position and a second position. The valve arrangement further includes a guard member (40) having a coupling portion (48) and a protecting portion (50) extending from the coupling portion of the guard member. The coupling portion of the guard member is structured to be coupled to the frame portion. When the blocking portion of the valve member moves from the first position toward the second position, the blocking portion moves toward the protecting portion of the guard member.

摘要: A patient interface device (8) that includes a cushion (12) structured to receive a flow of treatment gas, a frame (14) having a central portion (17) structured to couple with the cushion and a strap (18a, 18b) extending from the central portion, a headgear component (28) including at least one of a top portion (30) adapted to fit on top of a patient's head and a rear portion (32) adapted to fit behind the patient's head, and a coupling mechanism (34a, 34b) structured to couple the strap to the headgear component, wherein an end portion of the strap is structured to pass through an opening in the coupling mechanism, fold back in a direction toward the central portion of the frame, and releasably attach to the strap, such that pulling the end portion of the strap toward the central portion of the frame tightens the patient interface device.

摘要: A nasal prong for a cushion member for use with a patient interface device that includes a casing, a flap extending from the casing for insertion into a nostril of a patient, and a bottom cap. The casing and the bottom cap define a space. A fill material is disposed in the space defined by the casing and the bottom cap, wherein the casing is structured to deform and conform to a shape of a portion of the nostril when the nostril applies pressure to the casing.
