Abstract: There is provided a system (100) for detecting paralysis, weakness or numbness. A processor (102) acquires data obtained by a sensor (106) of a personal care device (104) used by a subject on a first part of their body and compares this data to reference data obtained by the sensor used by the subject on a second part of their body to determine whether the acquired data comprises an abnormality. The acquired data is indicative of a manner in which the subject used the device on the first part and/or a physiological property of that part. The reference data is indicative of a manner in which the subject used the device on the second part and/or a physiological property of that part. The processor detects paralysis, weakness or numbness in the first or a third part of the body of the subject when the acquired data comprises an abnormality.

Abstract: The present invention relates to providing navigation operation instructions, for example during catheterization. In order to provide improved navigation instructions, a device (10) for in-body navigation operation instructions is provided. The device comprises a position data supply (12), an anatomical data supply (14), a processor (16) and an output (18). The position data supply is configured to provide current position data of a tool portion with a tool tip inserted in an anatomy structure in a region of interest of a subject. The anatomical data supply is configured to provide 3D information of the anatomy structure; and to provide target information for the tool tip movement inside the anatomy structure. The processor is configured to determine a current location of the tool tip in the anatomy structure based on the current position data; to determine at least one of the group of movement specification and the trajectory information based on the target information and the determined current location in order to align the movement of the tool tip with the target information; and, based on the at least one of the group of the movement specification and the trajectory information, to determine operation instructions for the user to achieve a movement of the tool tip according to the at least one of the group of the movement specification and the trajectory information. The output is configured to provide the operation instructions to the user.

Abstract: A portable medical apparatus (70) for real-time individualized treatment guidance for a subject (120) comprises a user interface (72), a communications module (74), and a controller (76). The user interface (72) obtains the subject's identification information. The communications module (74) communicates with at least one of (i) a remote server (78) having stored thereon a cloud-based electronic health record that comprises at least the subject's physical body measurements and (ii) a smartphone (80) located within a given immediate proximity of the portable medical apparatus. The communications module (74) further retrieves, in response to the subject's identification information, the cloud-based electronic health record. The controller (76) generates, in response to the subject's physical body measurements from the cloud-based electronic health record, real-time individualized treatment guidance to be followed by a user (118) of the portable medical apparatus for administering the individualized treatment to the subject (120).
