An image forming apparatus includes a punch hole detection section, a position calculating section, an image adding section, and an image forming section. The punch hole detection section analyzes image data of a scan image obtained through scanning of an original document to detect two punch hole images. The position calculating section calculates a midpoint between the two punch hole images in the scan image when the two punch hole images are detected. The image adding section adds image data of a midpoint indicating image to the image data of the scan image so that the midpoint indicating image is added to the scan image at a position corresponding to the midpoint. The image forming section performs image formation on a sheet based on the image data of the scan image to which the image data of the midpoint indicating image has been added.

In an image reading apparatus, a character area extractor extracts character areas from a document image in units of rows. A title reliability calculator calculates a title reliability level of each character area using a feature quantity data set and a machine learning model. A character recognizer converts character areas of which title reliability levels exceed a threshold into text data. A title judger collates text data with a title candidate. In a case in which one piece of text data coinciding with a title candidate is judged and detected, the title judger sets the text data as a title of the document image. In a case in which a plurality of pieces of coinciding text data are judged and detected, the title judger sets text data of which a title reliability level is the highest among the detected pieces of text data as a title of the document image.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus displays a menu indicating one or more settings pertaining to image adjustment processing and a unique marker corresponding to a currently selected setting in the menu. A portable terminal detects the marker as depicted in a captured image that has been captured by an image capturing device and displays a screen indicating an effect of performing the image adjustment processing in accordance with a setting corresponding to the marker.

In an image reading apparatus, the image reading apparatus reads a document bundle to acquire a document image, and determines a first page of the document image according to the selected division method by a user. A page number recognizer extracts a page number from the document image by executing page number recognition processing, and determines the document image indicating a first page to be a first page of the document. A layout recognizer detects a marginal area or background color from the document image by executing layout recognition processing, and determines the first page of the document. A title recognizer extracts a title by executing title recognition processing and determines the first page of the document. A divider divides the document image into documents on the basis of the determined first page, converts the divided document images into files, and stores the files in a storage device.

An image forming apparatus has a sheet reading portion, an assimilation surveying portion, a color changing portion, and a printing portion. The sheet reading portion reads image data from a transparent sheet tinted with a predetermined color owned by a user. The assimilation surveying portion looks for, out of printable colors, a particular color that assimilates to the color of the read image data. The color changing portion changes, out of the data of a predetermined document accepted from the user, the color of the data of a concealable character, which is a character concealed when overlaid with the transparent sheet, to the found particular color. The printing portion prints, out of the data of the document, the data of the concealable character in the particular color.

An image processing device includes a mode instruction information obtaining section, a color determination threshold storage section, a mode determination section, and an automatic color determination threshold adjustment section. The mode determination section, using a color determination threshold, determines a mode to be a color mode when the image data belongs to a color mode range, and determines the mode to be a monochrome mode when the image data belongs to a monochrome mode range. The automatic color determination threshold adjustment section adjusts the color determination threshold so as to widen a mode range corresponding to the mode determined by the mode determination section, when the mode indicated by the instruction information obtained by the mode instruction information obtaining section is different from the mode determined by the mode determination section.
