    摘要: An image forming includes an apparatus main body, a photoreceptor drum, a charging apparatus, a developing device, a transfer apparatus, a charging bias applying unit, a developing bias applying unit, a bias adjusting unit, and a print density measurement unit. The bias adjusting unit forms a non-charged area on a circumference surface of the photoreceptor drum and applies a developing bias constituted of a first electric potential to a developing roller to form a first toner image by an electric potential difference between the non-charged area and the developing roller. The charging bias applying unit forms a second toner image by an electric potential difference between the electric potential area and the developing roller. The charging bias applying unit decides a value of a charging bias corresponding to a target electric potential from measurement results of print densities of the first toner image and the second toner image.

    摘要: A developing device includes a housing, a developer carrier, a conveying member and a surface layer. The conveying member conveys the developer in the first conveying direction and supplies the developer to the developer carrier. The surface layer is arranged on the circumferential surface of the developer carrier and formed on a surface of a predetermined cylindrical base member. The surface layer is formed by an immersion method of immersing the base member in an immersion tank so that an axial direction of the base member extends along a vertical direction. A lower end side of the base member at the time of the immersion is arranged in a downstream side of the housing in the first conveying direction and an upper end side of the base member at the time of the immersion is arranged in an upstream side of the housing in the first conveying direction.

The restricting member restricts the layer thickness of developer on the surface of the developer carrier. The restricting member includes a restricting base formed of resin with higher strength than the developing container and a metal foil arranged at a tip part of the restricting base. The metal foil has a downstream face portion fixed to a downstream-side face of the restricting base and a restricting face portion formed by bending the tip of the downstream face portion to an upstream side and arranged to face the developer carrier.

    摘要: The cleaning unit cleans the surface of the image carrying body after transfer of the toner image onto an image transfer object. The post-transfer neutralization unit is disposed between the transfer unit and the cleaning unit, and neutralizes electrical charge of the surface of the image carrying body after transfer. The first control unit controls neutralization light intensity of the pre-transfer neutralization unit such that a dark potential (V0 potential) of a non-image region on the image carrying body after pre-transfer neutralization is higher by 50 to 150 V than a bright potential (VL potential) of a solid image region. The first setting operating unit allows for an increase and decrease in the neutralization light intensity of the pre-transfer neutralization unit based on a status of an output image.

    摘要: A developing device has a developing roller, a toner feeding roller, a regulating blade, a casing, a film member, a biasing member, and first and second gears. The casing has an inner wall part facing the developing roller between the regulating blade and an image carrying member. The film member is flexible, and can vibrate in a direction approaching or away from the inner wall part. The biasing member applies a tension to the film member in its longitudinal direction. The first and second gears are coupled to a gear train driving the developing roller or the toner feeding roller, and have formed on their circumferential surfaces first and second protrusions vibrating the film member by intermittently making contact with one edge and the other edge of the film member respectively.
