An image forming apparatus includes a generation section, an image forming section, and a size determining section. The generation section divides a first image to generate a plurality of second images. The image forming section forms the second images on a plurality of sheets, respectively. The size determining section determines a size of a margin area allocated to at least one of the sheets. The image forming section forms the second images on the sheets, respectively, so that the second images are placed in a designated area on a combined sheet that is to be formed by combining the sheets. The size determining section determines the size of the margin area based on sizes of the designated area and the first image.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image reader, a controller, and an output section. The image reader reads a document at a highest resolution. The controller generates, from first image data obtained by reading of the document performed at the highest resolution, second image data having a resolution that is lower than the highest resolution, and sets a resolution of output image data based on a result of comparison between a first recognition result, which is a recognition result of character recognition processing performed on the first image data, and a second recognition result, which is a recognition result of character recognition processing performed on the second image data.

An image forming apparatus includes a memory, a control device, and an image forming device. The control device includes a processor and functions as a memory manager and a controller through the processor executing a control program. The memory manager allocates amounts of the memory depending on different types of processing constituting a job to create a plurality of memory regions. The controller executes the job using at least one of the plurality of memory regions. The image forming device executes an image forming job of forming an image on a sheet under control of the controller.
Abstract:
Provided is a facsimile apparatus that prevents a transmission forgetfulness of a regular transmission. Every time a FAX is transmitted, a transmission history is accumulated in a transmission history table. A regular transmission detecting part refers to the transmission history table for every time zone corresponding to the check interval memorized in a setting table. Thereby, the regular transmission detecting part detects whether or not the regular transmission was carried out in the past. If the regular transmission is carried out, the transmission judging part refers to the transmission history table. The transmission judging part judges whether or not the regular transmission was carried out in the time zone for today. If judged the transmission being not carried out, an informing part reports that the regular transmission is not carried out to the mail address corresponding to the report destination memorized in the setting table.

An image forming system 100 includes a terminal 10, an image forming apparatus 20, and a network repeater 30. The image forming apparatus 20 includes a writer 24 that writes identification information of the network repeater 30 to a wireless communication tag 22. The terminal 10 includes a display device 12 that presents the identification information read from the wireless communication tag 22, a terminal's communication device 16 that is allowed to connect to and communicate with the image forming apparatus 20, and a transmitter 14 that transmits, to the image forming apparatus 20, the identification information selected by a user and an encryption key entered by the user. The image forming apparatus 20 configures a connection with the network repeater 30 based on the identification information and the encryption key transmitted from the terminal 10.

A multifunctional machine includes a facsimile communication portion and a control portion that makes the facsimile communication portion transfer facsimile data to a reception-side facsimile machine. When the facsimile communication portion starts to perform communication for data transfer with the reception-side facsimile machine, the facsimile communication portion receives, from the reception-side facsimile machine, a reception allowance/rejection signal in conformity with a facsimile communication protocol. When the control portion indicates the reception allowance of the transfer of the reception allowance/rejection signal, the facsimile communication portion is made to transfer the facsimile data to the reception-side facsimile machine.
