    Abstract: A test color sheet of color strips of color patches is used in calibration operations for a printing device. Control color patches are used to identify each color strip and the scanning direction of any measured data captured by a color measurement tool. The control color patches have a unique pattern for each row. The patterns are changed according to an updating process that associates each unique pattern with its respective color strip. Scanning operations may be done in any sequence or direction without having to update the data being captured. The control color patches include a specified control color that differs from the color patches used for calibration operations.

    Abstract: An apparatus, shipping container, and system for in-package storing of data for an electronic device are disclosed. In one example, the apparatus comprises an electronic device that has a housing and is packaged in a shipping container that substantially encloses the electronic device. The housing includes a first communication interface and the shipping container includes a second communication interface. The second communication interface is in electrical communication with the first communication interface such that power and data signals can be communicated via the first and second communication interfaces between the electronic device and another electronic device located outside the shipping container.

    Abstract: Systems and methods relate generally to contextual features for a printing device. In an example method thereof, features of a printing device configuration are queried by a firmware service. The features obtained by a first dynamic scheduling service associated with the printing device are packaged. The features packaged are retrieved to provide a features list thereof by a second dynamic scheduling service for a driver associated with the printing device. Dynamic scheduling data is generated by an artificial intelligence service including deactivating one or more of the features responsive to a policy. The generating of the dynamic scheduling data includes filtering the features using the policy by the artificial intelligence service. A dynamic user interface is created by the second dynamic scheduling service responsive to the dynamic scheduling data.

    Abstract: A color management system for a printing system includes a color management service that controls quality control operations, such as calibration and quality checks, over a plurality of printing devices. The color management service generates a target print job having a quality control target made of color patches. The color management service also encodes metadata within the target print job using a control strip. The control strip encodes the metadata using different color patches and color intensities. The control strip is scanned at the printing device to decode the metadata and enable a user interface to complete the quality control operation.

    Abstract: Calibration requests are received at a network service. The network service assigns a request identifier for the data of a request. The request identifier is encoded into a control strip on a test color sheet using color patches. A color encoding key encodes the request identifier using the color patches. After the test color sheet is printed, a color measurement tool is used to decode the information from the control strip, including the request identifier. The color measurement tool measures the test color strips on test color sheet. The request identifier corresponds to the measurement data. The measurement data along with the request identifier is sent to the network service. The measurement data is processed to generate calibration data, which is used to update the printing device.
