An information processing apparatus includes: a package holding section; a package designation receiving section; and a program creating section. The package holding section holds a plurality of packages each containing: a command to output to an image forming apparatus an instruction to perform an operation performable by the image forming apparatus or a designation of a setting value for an item adjustable in the image forming apparatus, the setting value indicating an operating level of an operation shown by the item; and image data showing the operation for which the command instruction to perform is intended or the item for which the command designates the setting value. The package designation receiving section receives a designation of packages and an order of execution of the packages. The program creating section uses the designated packages to create a program for executing the commands in the packages in the designated order of execution.

Provided is an image forming apparatus that prevents the image forming apparatus being operated in a state where a user setting value is changed by a maintenance worker before a user is aware of the change without lowering efficiency of a maintenance work. The image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure is an image forming apparatus whose operation is controlled based on a setting value, and the setting value contains an operation control user setting value set by an administrator user having administrator authority. The image forming apparatus includes a maintenance work processing part that prohibits a general user having no administrator authority from using the image forming apparatus until the administrator user approves the operation control user setting value changed by the maintenance worker if the operation control user setting value is changed by the maintenance worker having the administrator authority.

The image forming apparatus is provided with an optical-communication receive part and an optical-communication execution part. The optical-communication receive part receives an external light signal by using an image reading part. The optical-communication execution part performs a setup of the data corresponding to the received light signal. The communication terminal apparatus is provided with an optical-communication sending part. The optical-communication sending part sends the light signal corresponding to a setup of data using a light irradiating part.

A multifunction peripheral 1 includes a communication portion 102, a control portion 101, a certified reference time storage portion 103, and a determining portion 104. A communication portion 102 receives a total maintenance time stored in a communication terminal unit 31 from the communication terminal unit 31. A control portion 101 switches its operation mode between a maintenance mode and a normal operation mode to activate the multifunction peripheral 1. A certified reference time storage portion 103 stores a certified reference time that permits switching to the maintenance mode. A determining portion 104 determines whether the total maintenance time has reached the certified reference time. When it is determined that the total maintenance time has reached the certified reference time by the determining portion 104, the control portion 101 switches the multifunction peripheral 1 to the maintenance mode to activate the multifunction peripheral 1.

The setting receiving unit receives all of the settings by a maintenance worker when the administrator user setting is unset, and prohibits receiving settings related to security by the maintenance worker when the administrator user setting is set.
