Abstract: A printing system includes an electronic device and a print apparatus. The electronic device includes a central processing unit and a storage device, and generates a print job. The print apparatus executes the print job. The storage device stores a job transmission program. The CPU executes the job transmission program to function as a spool availability determination unit and a job transmitter. The spool availability determination unit executes a determination of whether the print apparatus is capable of spooling an instruction execution type print job as the print job, executed in accordance with a specific instruction. The job transmitter transmits the instruction execution type print job to the print apparatus when the spool availability determination unit determines that the print apparatus is capable of spooling the instruction execution type print job. The spool availability determination unit obtains determination information for the determination from the print apparatus.

Abstract: A printing system includes a server, an electronic device and a print apparatus. The electronic device includes a central processing unit (CPU) and a storage device storing a printer driver. The CPU executes the printer driver to function as an authentication unit, a user information storage unit, and a job transmitter. The authentication unit transmits authentication information of a user and receives user information from the server. The user information storage unit stores the user information received by the authentication unit. The job transmitter uses the user information received by the authentication unit to transmit an instruction execution type print job to the print apparatus. If the user information is not received by the authentication unit, the job transmitter transmits the instruction execution type print job corresponding to print regulation information included in the user information stored in the user information storage unit to the print apparatus.

Abstract: Provided is a pull printing system that is capable of improving security performance over that of a typical system. When authentication based on identification information and authentication information of a person providing a transmission instruction from a user terminal is successful, a pull printing server of the pull printing system correlates a printing job from the user terminal with identification information of a person providing an execution instruction from the user terminal, and spools the printing job. When authentication based on identification information and authentication information of a person providing the execution instruction from an MFP is successful, the pull printing server sets the printing job that is related with the identification information of the person providing the execution instruction as a target candidate of pull printing when spooling the printing job that is related with the identification information of the person providing the execution instruction.
