Abstract: A printing system includes a data processing device and an image forming apparatus. The data processing device processes print data. The data processing device includes a data receiving unit, a data managing unit, a data transmitting unit, and a preview image generating unit. The preview image generating unit generates a preview image based on print data. When the data receiving unit receives print data of a plurality of pages, the preview image generating unit automatically generates the preview image of a part of pages among the plurality of pages. The data managing unit manages the preview image generated by the preview image generating unit. When the data managing unit manages the preview image of a page requested from the image forming apparatus, the data transmitting unit transmits the preview image managed by the data managing unit to the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: An information-processing system includes a personal computer, a management server, and one or more image forming apparatuses. The management server includes an emulator management unit and one or more emulators, and an estimated amount calculating unit. The estimated amount calculating unit calculates an estimated amount of charging when the print job is executed using the total count of pages, the print paper sheet size for each page, and the color/monochrome type for each page of the document to be printed by the print job determined by the emulator selected by the emulator management unit. Each of the one or more image forming apparatuses includes an estimated amount display. The estimated amount display obtains the estimated amount of charging from the management server when the print job is executed, so as to present the estimated amount of charging to the user via the display.

Abstract: A printing system includes a server, an electronic device and a print apparatus. The electronic device includes a central processing unit (CPU) and a storage device storing a printer driver. The CPU executes the printer driver to function as an authentication unit, a user information storage unit, and a job transmitter. The authentication unit transmits authentication information of a user and receives user information from the server. The user information storage unit stores the user information received by the authentication unit. The job transmitter uses the user information received by the authentication unit to transmit an instruction execution type print job to the print apparatus. If the user information is not received by the authentication unit, the job transmitter transmits the instruction execution type print job corresponding to print regulation information included in the user information stored in the user information storage unit to the print apparatus.

Abstract: A print management device includes a queue managing unit, a wireless communication unit, a data storage unit, and a data transmitting unit. The queue managing unit manages queues related to image forming apparatuses. The wireless communication unit communicates with a user terminal in a common wireless printing protocol. The wireless printing protocol does not require a driver individually corresponding to the image forming apparatuses. The data storage unit stores print data received by the wireless communication unit from the user terminal over the communications in the queues managed by the queue managing unit. The data transmitting unit takes out the print data from the queue to transmit the print data to the image forming apparatus related to the queue.
