    摘要: A method of irradiating a continuously-running strip with energy beams. Scanning the width of continuously-running strip positions energy-beam irradiating devices along the width of the strip. Allocation of scanning regions along the width of the strip corresponding to respective energy-beam irradiating devices is determined. When an edge deviation or strip wind is detected by a strip-edge detector upstream of the energy-beam irradiating devices, the strip regions to be scanned are adjusted. If the amount of strip wind exceeds the limits of the scannable energy-beam irradiating devices, neighboring irradiating devices are re-oriented, all in response to upstream strip wind detection.

    摘要: A grain oriented silicon steel sheet which exhibits reduced iron loss and which contributes excellent noise characteristics when used as a material of a stacked transformer. The sheet is produced by applying electron beam irradiation a finish-annealed grain oriented silicon steel sheet, along scan paths which cross the rolling direction at a scanning speed v(cm/s) and a spacing L(cm) in the rolling direction, with an electron beam of a beam diameter d (cm) generated by a current I.sub.b (mA) and acceleration voltage V.sub.k (kV);wherein the surface energy density .alpha. (J/cm.sup.2) on the surface of said steel sheet as determined by the following formula (1) is about 0.16 J/cm.sup.2 or more, and said surface energy density .alpha. (J/cm.sup.2) and the surface energy density .beta. (J/cm.sup.2) on the scan paths meet the approximate condition of the following formula (3):.alpha.=(V.sub.k .multidot.I.sub.b)/(L.multidot.v) (1).beta.=(V.sub.k .multidot.I.sub.b)/(d.multidot.v) (2) 0.6-0.06 .beta..ltoreq..alpha..ltoreq.0.90-0.08.beta.
