    摘要: Apparatus for cutting the leading and trailing edges of an opaque sheet angling initially at an offset angle with respect to a cutting blade includes a pair of light sources and a pair of light sensors opposite said light sources. An opaque sheet to be cut is moved at right angles to a line extending between said pairs of light source and sensors to bring said article edges to and past said pairs of light sources and sensors. The sensors produce article edge angle indicating signals which indicate the time difference each edge reaches said pair of sensors. Means are provided responsive to said signals which adjust the blade angle to be parallel to each article edge so the blade cuts parallel to each edge. The angle indicating could be signals which are a direct measure of the difference in times each edge reaches the sensors. However, they are preferably derived from sensors measuring the relative amounts of light at a snapshot time passing through slots partially covered to different degrees by the sheet edge portion involved when the edge being measured is at an angle to said line.

Rotating the proper key will rotate the key mechanism (40) and a sleeve (50) disposed around a shaft (41), permitting the block (20) to pass by a pair of protuberances (150,151) within a cavity (144) to remove the lock (10) from a receptacle (141) or to lock the locking mechanism (40) behind the protuberances (150,151). In this manner, one can insert the battery lock (10) into the battery's (100) receptacle (141), secure the lock (10) in place and remove it.

    摘要: In recording systems in which video and audio signals are recorded in tape layers having different depths, a method and apparatus is provided which serves to ensure that the video recording bias for a video signal is always selected and adjusted for optimum results, allowance being made for an audio signal already recorded in the same tracks and for tolerances of the record carrier, the heads and the head amplifier with respect to the playback sensitivity. During recording of the video signal, the video recording bias is varied step-wise. After every change in the video recording bias, a d.c. signal is derived from the playback envelope of the audio signal, the value of the d.c. signal being a measure of the playback amplitude of the audio signal. As soon as the d.c. signal value has reached a predetermined minimum value, the video recording bias is ceased to be changed and the last value of the video recording bias is stored for the next recording process.
