摘要: A scheme for controlling a congestion in the communication network, capable of realizing a recovery from the congestion state by the operation at the lower layer level for the communication data transfer alone, without relying on the upper layer protocol to be defined at the terminals. In a communication network including first and second node systems, a flow of communication data transmitted from the first node system to the second node system is monitored and regulated by using a monitoring parameter. On the other hand, an occurrence of congestion in the second node system is detected according to communication data transmitted from the second node system, and the monitoring parameter used in monitoring and regulating the flow of communication data is changed according to a detection of the occurrence of congestion in the second node system.

摘要: The router, which serves as an egress of a first network, forms a frame out of a control frame, which is received through a virtual connection in the first network and is to be terminated at the router, and transmits the frame to a second network, i.e., to external of the first network. The router also forms a frame out of a data frame, which is received through the same virtual connection and is to be transferred through the router, and transfers the frame to the second network. The router, which serves as an ingress of a third network, receives the frame including the control frame, is able to change the information contained in another control frame to be transferred within the third network, based on the control information generated in the first network and contained in the received frame. Thus, each node in the networks can perform packet transfer control based not only on control/congestion information of its own network but also on control/congestion information of other networks.

摘要: A network resource reservation scheme capable of making a resource reservation at the IP level according to the resource reservation protocol at a time of data packet transfer at the IP level using ATM networks. A node device requests a change of a virtual connection for transferring data packets to a prescribed virtual connection for providing a service which is capable of changing an amount of resource without reestablishing connections, when a prescribed message of a resource reservation protocol for that virtual connection is received, and transmits the data packets to the prescribed virtual connection established in response to the request. A node device determines a necessary amount of resource according to a requested quality of service described in a received reservation message of a resource reservation protocol. A node device then requests a change of an amount of resource reserved in a virtual connection for transferring data packets in order to reserve the necessary amount of resource in that virtual connection, and transmits the data packets to that virtual connection in which the amount of resource reserved therein is changed in response to the request.

摘要: A cell transmission rate control scheme in ATM network, capable of preventing incorrect updating of information in a resource management (RM) cell. The RM cell having an explicit cell rate field is transmitted and returned between the first and second end-nodes. A first cell transmission rate value written in the explicit cell rate field of the RM cell transmitted by the first end-node is stored at a control unit provided on the ATM network, and a second cell transmission rate value written in the explicit cell rate field of the RM cell returned by the second end-node is detected at the control unit. When the second cell transmission rate value is larger than the first cell transmission rate value, the second cell transmission rate value is rewritten into the first cell transmission rate value in the explicit cell rate field of the RM cell returned by the second end-node at the control unit.

摘要: Provided is a method of packet transmission capable of efficiently utilizing ACL link resources in transmitting and receiving packets after an ACL link is established in Bluetooth. A Bluetooth device A determines the maximum rate for packet size to be transmitted to a Bluetooth device B established in the link based on the ratio between a token rate A requested by the device A and a token rate B requested by the device B. When the token rate A is greater than the token rate B, the maximum rate N is set from the candidates of current time slot numbers occupiable as an ACL packet. When the token rate A is smaller than the token rate B, a rate is selected from the candidates of current time slot numbers occupiable as the ACL packet based on rate U=N×token rate A/token rate B.

摘要: In a radio communication system in which packet communications are carried out by setting up one or more connections between the radio base station and radio terminals, a radio base station or a radio terminal carries out the timeout control in which any packet that cannot be received completely through one connection within a timeout interval that is set in advance with respect to the one connection is regarded as lost, a change in a number of active connections that are currently carrying out communications with the radio base station is detected, and a new timeout interval is calculated and set with respect to each connection when the change in the number of active connections is detected.

摘要: The system defines a dedicated virtual link (DVL) for a specified packet flow. The router receives a datalink frame having a Media Access Control (MAC) address field. An identifier of the DVL allocated between the router and a previous-hop node is written in the frame using the MAC address field. The router refers to a correspondence relationship between the identifier of the DVL and information for designating a next-hop node, based on the identifier of the DVL included in the received frame, and transfers the frame to the next-hop node without network-layer processing.
