    摘要: A stick-type ignition coil have a central core, a cylindrical member, primary spool, primary coil, secondary spool, secondary coil, outer core and a resin insulator. The two longitudinal end corners and faces of the core are covered by respective buffer members. The inner circumferential corners of the outer core is supported by ring members. Some of the members disposed radially inside and other members disposed radially outside of the inside members are held slidably to each other in the ignition coil. The spools are made of resin containing a rubber in excess of 5 weight percent and reinforcing materials. The resin insulator contains a flexible material.

    摘要: A valve timing adjusting apparatus comprises a first rotating body adjusting the opening/closing timing of the intake valves, and a second rotating body adjusting the opening/closing timing of exhaust valves. A first and a second driving force transmitting members respectively have first and second endless members for power transmission. The peripheral shape of the second rotating body comprises a circumferential shape portion and cutoff shape portions whose distance from the center of rotation is smaller than the circumferential shape portion's. When the first and second rotating bodies are assembled to an internal combustion engine, the cutoff shape portions are positioned in such a rotation angle position that the first endless member for power transmission can be inserted into the gap between the first and second rotating bodies.

    摘要: A valve timing adjusting apparatus for an engine comprises a housing unit and a vane rotor rotatably housed in the housing unit. The housing unit comprises a front plate, a shoe housing and a sprocket, wherein those elements are fixed to each other. A position determination pin is inserted through a through hole formed in the shoe housing and into a tapered hole formed in the sprocket, to position the shoe housing at a desired position with respect to the sprocket. Since a forward end of the position determination pin is brought into contact with an inner surface of the tapered hole, the positioning of the shoe housing with respect to the sprocket can be surely attained.

    摘要: A high voltage post terminal is accurately located within a support aperture during manufacturing processes by at least one inwardly directed projection to avoid assembly problems caused by sizing the entire aperture itself to locate the terminal with sufficient accuracy. By thus improving the concentricity of the high voltage coil components it is possible to achieve more reliable insulation between components at even relatively small-sized coils used for individual engine plug holes. An especially advantageous range of critical parameters has been discovered as achievable by using this more reliable manufacturing process.

    摘要: During a multiple discharges operation, a micro computer changes a discharge period of each discharge in accordance with a pressure transition in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. Thus, the energy amount consumed at each discharge of the multiple discharges operation is suppressed toward the minimum requirement, and the consumption of energy accumulated in the ignition device is appropriately controlled. As a result, discharge energy is efficiently consumed at the multiple discharges, thereby compacting the ignition device. Further, the number of multiple discharges is not restricted.
