摘要： An optical terminal structure includes a single mode optical fiber having a short length, and a cylindrical member in which the single mode optical fiber is fixed. The cylindrical member has the co-axis as that of a core of the single mode optical fiber. Each of both facets of the cylindrical member is polished to have a mirror surface. The core and a clad of the single mode optical fiber have refractive indexes so that the normalized frequency in operation state of the single mode optical fiber becomes at most 2.405 as a value converted at a wavelength in use of 1.28 .mu.m. The wavelength in use is preferably in the range of 1.29 to 1.33 .mu.m.

摘要： An optical receptacle wherein reflection at the end face of an optical fiber can be prevented accurately with a simple construction without additional provision of a transparent member on which an anti-reflection film is formed and which can be produced at a significantly lower cost than ever. A hole of a receptacle body for receiving an optical connector plug for an optical fiber therein is formed as a bottomed blind hole. An inner bottom face of a bottom portion of the receptacle body defining the bottom of the bottomed blind hole is formed as a flat face perpendicular to the axial line of the blind hole. A rear face of the bottom portion is formed as an inclined face which is inclined with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axial line of the blind hole. At least the bottom portion of the receptacle body is formed from a transparent material having a substantially equal refractive index to that of the optical fiber so as to transmit light therethrough.

摘要： An improved connector housing comprises an outer and inner housing members and a snap ring to be positioned in grooves formed on the respective inner and outer surfaces of the outer and inner housing members. The snap ring is made of a resilient metal strip and is shaped to have at least one convex portion along the longitudinal direction thereof so that a resilient compressing force is produced to increase a screw fixing force between the outer housing member and an adapter when the inner housing member is moved in relation to the outer housing member.
