摘要: An immunoassay comprises the steps of: (a) mixing a whole blood sample with sensitized insoluble carrier particles smaller than erythrocytes to cause an immune agglutination reaction; (b) introducing the resulting immune agglutination reaction mixture including agglutinated particles and unagglutinated particles to a flow cell, irradiating the particles passing through the flow cell with laser light, and detecting scattered lights generated thereby; (c) setting a threshold value for distinguishing unagglutinated particles from agglutinated particles and a threshold value for distinguishing the agglutinated particles from blood cells with regard to intensity of the scattered light; and (d) distinguishing and counting the unagglutinated particles, the agglutinated particles and the blood cells from the scattered lights detected in the step (b), in reference to the threshold values set in the step (c).

摘要: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device of active matrix type. Each pixel electrode (1) includes either a single regional electrode (2) or two or more regional electrodes (2) which are electrically connected to each other. The or each regional electrode is provided with: a first electrode (cross-shaped electrode) (3) which has a pattern dividing a first region into a plurality of second regions (R1, R2, R3, and R4); and a plurality of stripe electrodes (4) which are provided in each of the second regions so as to extend from the first electrode and so as to be separated from each other by a distance. A storage capacitor line (CSL) is provided facing one of pixel electrodes (1) in a film thickness direction to form a storage capacitor. The storage capacitor line (CSL) is provided so as not to extend facing an edge (2e, 2e′) of a first region in the film thickness direction parallelly to the edge (2e, 2e′). The invention eliminates irregular orientation of liquid crystal molecules in polymer sustained alignment.

摘要: A biological growth inhibition factor assay method includes: a first step of mixing a photosynthetic sample, with an aqueous solution sample to prepare a test measurement solution, letting the test measurement solution stand, and then after illuminating light onto the test measurement solution for a predetermined illumination time, measuring the light amount of the delayed fluorescence that is emitted; a second step of mixing the photosynthetic sample with a standard sample, in which biological growth inhibition factors are not present, to prepare a standard measurement solution, letting the standard measurement solution stand, and then after illuminating light onto the standard measurement solution for a predetermined illumination time, measuring the light amount of the delayed fluorescence that is emitted; and a third step of computing assay values based on the light amounts of delayed fluorescence, respectively measured in the first step and the second step, and determining a comparison value of the assay values to assay biological growth inhibition factors. A biological growth inhibition factor assay method that enables analysis of a wide range of inhibition factors in a short time is thereby realized.

摘要: After a photoresist (2) is used to fix a biological sample, in order to obtain a particular biological substance, for example, a certain cell or biopolymer, from the biological sample embedded in the photoresist (2), properties of the photoresist are changed by exposing the portion of the photoresist (2) that covers the biological substance to light L which has an appropriate wavelength. The biological substance embedded in the changed photoresist is collected.

摘要: A device for guiding a recording paper, which comprises a guide member pivoted to a fixed portion of the device to guide the recording paper to a transfer position, the guide member being urged to rotate in one direction. A reference surface for determining the position of end portion of the guide member in the direction of being fed the paper is formed in the fixed portion of the device. The reference surface has a radius of curvature which is slightly greater than the outer diameter of a photosensitive drum and a center of curvature which is in agreement with the center of said photosensitive drum.

摘要: Provided are a magnetic disk substrate that can be adapted to a reduction in flying height of a head in an HDD and to an increase in rotational speed therein, and a method of manufacturing such a substrate. In an annular glass substrate for a magnetic recording medium, a main surface (12) of the glass substrate is uniformly inclined from an inner peripheral end (13) to an outer peripheral end (14) and has an isotropic shape with respect to an axis passing through the center of the glass substrate. That is, it is rotationally symmetric with respect to an arbitrary angle rotation about the axis passing through the center of the glass substrate.
