摘要： A card connector includes a plurality of contacts adapted to contact memory cards, a housing holding the contacts and having a plurality of inserting openings arranged in vertically overlapping relationship for inserting memory cards, respectively, and a shell covering the housing. A pivot member is installed at a predetermined position in the housing so as to be pivotally moved when one memory card is inserted in one of the inserting openings such that part of the pivot member extends into all the inserting openings except for the one inserting opening, thereby preventing a further memory card from being inserted into the card connector. In assembling, after the pivot member is set in the housing so that protrusions provided in the housing are fitted in slits formed in the pivot member, the shell is fitted on the housing to push the pivoting member into the predetermined position.

Metal plates made of a metal are installed in the housing so as to extend onto both sides in the width direction of the housing. The metal plates are integrally provided with connection portions to be connected to a substrate. A tray made of a metal is provided for loading a plurality of memory cards therein, and either of both ends of the tray in its width direction is bent substantially into an L-shape, which bent portion slidably engages the metal plate. The connector achieves a reduced overall height such as less than 2.0 mm and is also superior in safety.

摘要： A card connector includes contacts of two kinds for two memory cards, each adapted to contact a connection portion of the memory card, and a housing having two inserting openings each into which the respective memory card is inserted and arranging and holding the contacts. The two inserting openings are arranged one above the other substantially in parallel relationship, and an insertion-preventing member is arranged in a position between the inserting openings so as not to contact the contacts of two kind so that once either of the memory cards has been inserted, the other memory card is prevented from being inserted by means of the insertion-preventing member. The card connector thus constructed is simple in construction and easy to remove the memory card and can achieve a miniaturization of the connector without limiting design of circuits of substrate.

摘要： A connector for plural kinds of cards includes a housing, and a gate-shaped slider slidable on slide rails on both sides in a card inserting space in the housing. Inserting a wider and thicker card, the card engages and moves together with the slider into the housing to contact contacts on one surface in the housing at a predetermined inserted position. Inserting a narrower and thinner card, the card enters an inner space of the gate-shaped slider, and while the slider remains stationary, the card arrives at a predetermined inserted position with the aid of a step having an inclined face in the slider, whereupon the contacting surface of the card arrives at the same level as that of the contact surface of the wider and thicker card so that the card comes into contact with the contacts to achieve an electrical connection therebetween.
