摘要: A surveillance system utilizing a plurality of communication devices that are operative with portable telephones to permit an easily reconfigurable remote surveillance area. The portable telephones can have audio and imaging transmitting functions and at least one has an audio and imaging receiving function. An image sensor can sense images within a predetermined area and is operatively connected to a portable telephone for providing an output signal upon detection of a predetermined amount of change in the image area. An auto-dialing section is connected to a first telephone for calling a second remote telephone automatically based on the output signal. Infrared detecting sensors can also image within the surveillance area and be utilized to activate the auto-dialing function. The portable telephones can further include an image sensor for providing an image of the surveillance area.

摘要: A remote power switching system capable of detecting the emission of infrared thermal energy from a human body or other objects and automatically controlling a supply of power to electric equipment is provided. A controller unit having a switching unit capable of connecting to a source of power and controlling the output of power to a device that utilizes the power, incorporates a wireless receiver unit for receiving control signals to operate the switching unit. The controller unit can further include electronic prongs and electrical receptacles for providing a plug in connection for the device to be controlled. A remote controller that can be portable and of hand size has a first sensor unit for determining the presence of an object that intrudes within the predetermined zone. A transmitter unit can transmit a wireless signal when a control unit receives a signal from the first sensor unit. A second sensor unit can determine ambient light conditions which can also be considered by the control unit in determining the appropriateness of sending a wireless signal. Finally, control members can be used to delay the activation of the remote controller for a predetermined time period.

摘要: A method of removing nitrogen and phosphorus from waste water by using an activated sludge including aerobic bacteria is disclosed. The waste water is fed continuously and gradually into a treatment basin in which the sludge is contained so that a mixed liquor consisting of the waste water and the sludge is formed therein. A cycle consisting of an agitating step and an aerating step is repeated at least two times and each cycle is finished within two hours, with the ratio of the agitating time to the aerating time being between one to one and to one. In the agitating step, the mixed liquor presents an anoxic condition and a succeeding anaerobic condition. Denitrification occurs in the anoxic condition and the aerobic bacteria release phosphorus in the anaerobic condition. During the aerating step, nitrification is caused while the bacteria excessively ingest phosphorus from the mixed liquor.

摘要: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for measuring the density of a suspeon wherein the suspension to be measured is first subjected to pressurization or depressurization in a closed container by means of a compressor or a vacuum pump to extinguish air bubbles and gas bubbles which would otherwise cause measurement error, and the measurement of the density of the suspension is then achieved with high exactitude in a bubble free state.
