    摘要: A system, method and apparatus for controlling a downhole operation is disclosed. A tool is operated to perform the downhole operation at a selected downhole location using a first value of an operation parameter of the tool. A magnetostrictive probe is used to determine a temperature profile along a section of a wellbore related to the operation being performed using the first value of the operation parameter. At least one temperature of the temperature profile is compared to a selected threshold. The operation parameter is altered to a second value based on the comparison of the temperature profile to the selected threshold.

    摘要: A vibration dampening system for a motor shaft in an ESP uses axially extending arms in one or opposed directions from a fixed portion of a motor shaft bearing. The weights can have their location adjusted to tune the device to the natural frequencies of the rotating shaft and to add an ability to address vibration in more than one plane. Openings are provided in the support for the arms that hold the weight so that arm vibration can create turbulence and improve heat dissipation in the oil for improved bearing life. Bearing cost can be reduced using more economical materials without sacrificing bearing life.

    摘要: An apparatus for reducing vibration in a downhole component includes: an electrically conductive auxiliary mass attached to the component and configured to vibrate in a direction corresponding to a direction of downhole component vibration and absorb a portion of the downhole component vibration; and a magnetic component configured to generate a magnetic field through the auxiliary mass having a direction at least partially perpendicular to the direction of auxiliary mass vibration, the magnetic field configured to induce a current in the auxiliary mass in response to auxiliary mass vibration. The apparatus has an auxiliary mass vibration frequency tuned relative to a selected natural vibration frequency of the downhole component to reduce vibration of the downhole component, the auxiliary mass vibration frequency based on a magnetic stiffness of the auxiliary mass, the magnetic stiffness based on a strength of the magnetic field and/or a resistance of the auxiliary mass.
