摘要: A device, system and method are provided for using a seal sub to isolate a well. The seal sub generally has a primary channel extending through the seal sub and seat positioned within the primary channel. As a ball setting tool passes through the seal sub and the seat, a ball connected to the setting tool with a shear pin contacts the seat and selectively connects to the seal sub. A predetermined force can be applied to the ball setting tool to break the shear pin, which leaves the seal ball in place, and the seal sub and the seal ball isolate the downhole pressures and contents from the uphole pressures and contents.

摘要: A completion string includes at least one isolation packer positioned between well zones of a plurality of well zones, and a sand control assembly and a circulating assembly each disposed uphole of a washdown shoe in the bottom-most well zone. A top well zone includes a return valve assembly, a production packer, and a second circulating assembly and a second sand control assembly downhole of the production packer. The completion string also includes an outer string spanning from the bottom-most well zone to the top well zone, and an inner production string concentrically arranged within the outer string, creating an inner-annulus between the outer string and inner production string. The inner-annulus is continuous from the washdown shoe to the return valve assembly, and the inner production string includes a production valve disposed between the sand control assembly and the circulating assembly in each of the bottom-most and top well zones.

摘要: Systems and methods for communicating information acoustically through a plug in a temporarily or permanently abandoned well. The disclosed embodiments use an acoustically transmissive well plug, where an acoustic transmitter coupled to a measurement tool below the plug is coupled to the plug In a manner that is intended to maximize the coupling of the generated acoustic signals to the plug. These signals are then transmitted through the acoustically transmissive plug to an acoustic receiver that is coupled to the upper end of the plug. The acoustic receiver convert the acoustic signals to another form if necessary and forwards the signals to equipment at the surface of the well, or to intermediate transceivers that can relay the signals to the surface.

摘要: Wireline plugs for use in a Y-tool. In some embodiments, the wireline plug can include an elongated body defining a bore therethrough. A first end of the elongated body can include an outer surface configured to serve as a fishing neck and a second end configured to connect to a downhole tool. The wireline plug can include an elongated seal defining a bore therethrough disposed within a portion of the bore defined by the elongated body. The elongated seal can be configured to provide an at least partial fluid seal between an inner surface of the bore defined by the elongated body and an outer surface of a wireline when disposed within the bore defined by the elongated seal. The elongated seal can be formed from a polymer, an elastomer, or a combination of a polymer and an elastomer.

摘要: A well tool device includes a housing; a through bore provided axially through the well tool device; and a frangible disc supported in the through bore by a first supporting device and a second supporting device. The through bore is defined with a bore wall. The second supporting device is axially displaceable in relation to the first supporting device. The well tool includes a shear element for preventing axial displacement of the second supporting device; a sealing element arranged radially outside of the frangible disc and radially inside of the bore wall when the well tool device is in a first state, in which the sealing element together with the frangible disc is configured to prevent axial fluid flow between a first side of the frangible disc and a second side of the frangible disc; and a disintegration device. The well tool device is configured to be in a second state, in which the shear element has been sheared off and the frangible disc and the second supporting device have been moved axially until the frangible disc has been brought into contact with the disintegration device. The well tool device is configured to be in a third state, in which the frangible disc has been disintegrated by means of the disintegration device. The well tool device includes a flushing channel provided in the bore wall radially outside of the frangible disc when the well tool device is in the second state.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for performing a sealing operation. A sealing element is introduced into a wellbore having a temperature. The sealing element comprises a material having a positive coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and a material having a negative CTE. The sealing element is expanded to contact an adjacent surface. The material having a negative CTE expands when the wellbore temperature is decreasing and the expansion of the negative CTE material maintains contact of the sealing element with the adjacent surface while the wellbore temperature is decreasing.

摘要: The present invention discloses a permanent packer and an extended gas lift method using the permanent packer, the method comprising: S1. imbedding the extended gas lift embedded pipe when setting the permanent packer, wherein the extended gas lift embedded pipe has an upper end being closed and a lower end being open, is provided therein with a one-way valve through which the fluid can pass from top to bottom; S2. lowering a breaking device from the production casing when in the extended gas lift, to break the upper end of the extended gas lift embedded pipe such that the upper and lower ends of the extended gas lift embedded pipe are communicated; and S3. injecting gas into the production casing, lifting the accumulated liquid in the bottom hole to the ground surface, to complete the extended gas lift. The method does not affect the sealing property of the permanent packer, can fully adapt to the demand in the early and middle stages of gas well development, and meanwhile can realize extended gas lift without workover in the middle and later stages of gas well development, and has low implementation cost and good safety.
