摘要： The emulsion herein is of an epoxy resin having a glass transition temperature of at least about 40° C., wherein the average diameter of the epoxy resin particles in the emulsion is 500 nm or less. The emulsion may include an epoxy resin, a sulfonated polyester resin and a nonionic surfactant. The emulsion may be used to produce a toner particle in an emulsion aggregation method.

摘要： A process for preparing a toner includes forming an emulsion with a buffer solution and an amorphous biodegradable polyester resin represented by Formula (1): wherein each n independently represents an integer of 1 to about 20 and x and y represent respective ratios of respective monomeric units and x ranges from about 0 to about 1000 and y ranges from about 0 to about 300; adding a colorant, a coagulant, and optionally a wax to the emulsion to form a mixture; heating the mixture, permitting aggregation and coalescence of the mixture to form toner particles; and recovering the toner particles.

摘要： A toner having an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin, and a colorant, wherein the crystalline resin has a melting temperature of at least 70° C. and a recrystallization point of at least 47° C. exhibits improved document offset properties and improved heat cohesion. Annealing the toner further improves the heat cohesion and morphology of the toner.

摘要： A process for making a latex emulsion suitable for use in a toner composition includes co-emulsifying a bio-based resin with an insoluble component, such as a pigment or wax, whereby the resin encapsulates the insoluble component. The resulting latex, including the insoluble component encapsulated in the resin, may then be utilized to form a toner. The insoluble component may thus be included in toner particles, which might otherwise be difficult to achieve, using emulsion aggregation processes.

摘要： An emulsion aggregation toner composition includes toner particles including: an unsaturated polymeric resin, such as amorphous resins, crystalline resins, and combinations thereof; an optional colorant; an optional wax; an optional coagulant; and an IR absorber. The use of an IR absorber may permit formation of color toners that have uniform gloss and crease properties, i.e., the IR absorbers may prevent gloss and crease differences between color and black toners.
