    Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of electrostatically printing a cyclodextrin composition on a substrate, the method including forming an electrostatically printable composition comprising a polymer and one or more cyclodextrins, one or more cyclodextrin inclusion complexes, or a combination thereof, and electrostatically printing the composition on a substrate. Also described are electrostatically printable compositions, methods of making the compositions, printing systems employing the compositions, substrates having the composition electrostatically printed thereon, laminates thereof, and uses of the printed substrates and laminates.

    Abstract: A magnetic carrier composed of carrier particles is provided in which each carrier particle has a carrier core including magnetic fine particles and a binder resin with the carrier core surface being coated with a coat material containing a coat resin. In the magnetic carrier, Fatom/Catom and (Fatom/Catom)/(Fcalc/Ccalc) are respectively in specific ranges, wherein Fatom and Catom represent respectively a fluorine element abundance ratio and a carbon element abundance ratio at the magnetic carrier particle surface, and Fcalc and Ccalc represent respectively a fluorine element abundance ratio and a carbon element abundance ratio which are calculable from the molecular structure of the coat resin.In addition, a two-component developer is provoded including the magnetic carrier and a toner having a specific contact angle against water.

    Abstract: An imaging apparatus including a support member including a support surface for supporting a layer of marking material; a marking material supply apparatus for depositing marking material on the surface of the support member to form a layer of marking material thereon; a charging source for selectively delivering charge species to the layer of marking material in an imagewise manner to form an electrostatic latent image in the layer of marking material, wherein the electrostatic latent image includes image areas defined by a first charge voltage and nonimage areas defined by a second charge voltage distinguishable from the first charge voltage; and a separator member for selectively separating portions of the marking material layer in accordance with the latent image in the marking material layer to create a developed image and wherein said marking material is comprised of a liquid developer comprised of a nonpolar liquid, resin, colorant, and a charge acceptance component comprised of a cyclodextrin.

    Abstract: A composition useful in copying and printing is described. In one embodiment, the composition comprises a purified fraction of uintaite and a thermoplastic polymer. Preferably, the composition comprises a maltene-enriched fraction of uintaite derived by solvent extraction, a thermoplastic polymer and a colorant. In another embodiment, the present invention is an electrophotographic method comprising the steps of generating a latent electrostatic image; developing said latent image with a toner comprising a purified fraction of uintaite; and fixing said toner. The present invention is also a printing ink emulsion comprising a maltene-enriched fraction of uintaite.
