摘要: A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material of internal latent image type for use in the formation of a direct positive image containing a compound of the following general formula (I) or (II):General formula (I) ##STR1## General formula (II) ##STR2## The photographic material can be developed after a shortened induction period, can yield good positive images that are free from stain when undergoing fogging development, and can yield good direct positive images with a high maximum density and a low minimum density. The photographic material forms a direct positive image when subjected, after imagewise exposure, to an overall light exposure or development in the presence of a fogging agent and can be developed by surface development.

摘要: A method for obtaining direct positive images wherein a photographic material having a support and at least two silver halide emulsion layers coated thereon, each layer having a different spectral sensitivity, said emulsions being of the internal latent image type and containing unfogged silver halide crystals, is imagewise exposed and then subjected to an overall area exposure prior to or during the development thereof to form the image. The overall area exposure is such that the photographic intensity ratios between various layers are not more than 6 and the intensity of such overall exposure has a value between light intensities which give 0.8 times the maximum image density of the particular emulsion layer and 10 times that light intensity value. The photographic intensity ratio is the ratio between photographic intensities of two emulsion layers and the photographic intensity is the reciprocal of the intensity value that corresponds to an image density which is 50% of the maximum when an imagewise-unexposed internal latent type image silver halide emulsion layer is subjected to light-intensity scale exposure and the density of the image formed is measured with a light which corresponds to the absorption maximum of the image.

摘要: A direct positive type silver halide color photographic material and an image forming method are disclosed. A green sensitive emulsion layer of the photographic material comprises silver halide grains having at least two peaks on the size distribution curve thereof and the grain size corresponding to the smallest grain size peak among the peaks is not more than 0.3 .mu.m and a magenta coupler represented by the following Formula (M-I); ##STR1## wherein Z is a group of non-metal atoms necessary to complete a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; X is a hydrogen atom or a split-off group and R is a substituent. The photographic material is developed with a color development in the presence of a fogging agent to directly form the positive image after imagewise exposure to light. Thus obtained image is improved in a increased maximum density, lowered minimum density and wider exposure latitude. Stability of gradation with respect to variation of development conditions is also improved.

摘要: A direct positive silver halide photographic material with an internal latent image-type silver halide emulsion layer that provides a direct positive image by a fogging treatment (for example, an overall exposure, or surface developing treatment in the presence of a fogging agent) after imagewise exposure. The silver halide particles which form the emulsion layer consist essentially of a core portion made of silver halide and having been chemically sensitized or doped with metal ions. There are provided a plural number of shell portions made of silver halide containing silver chloride. The chloride content of an inner shell adjacent to the outmost shell of the particles has a smaller amount of chloride content than that of the outermost shell. The photographic material is used by first imagewise exposing it to light, effecting overall fogging treatment on the silver halide particles and processing the exposed photographic material to produce the image.

These grains have a core/shell structure and have not been previously fogged. Each grain comprises a conversion type silver halide core and a silver halide shell over the core. The layer would produce, when exposed for a given time upto one second and developed at 20.degree. C. for 4 minutes with a certain internal developing solution, a maximum density which is at least five times that obtained when the layer is similarly exposed and developed with a particular surface developing solution.
