    摘要: The present invention provides a method for obtaining an imaging element suitable for use in a silver salt diffusion transfer process by the steps of:preparing an image receiving element by coating the anodized surface of an aluminum foil with an image-receiving layer comprising physical development nuclei,preparing a photosensitive layer packet by coating a temporary base with at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer,pressing the thus formed photosensitive layer packet with its photosensitive silver halide emulsion coated side against said image receiving layer, which has been wet with an aqueous moistening liquid, andoptionally removing said temporary base, characterized in that between said temporary base and said at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer a barrier layer is present which is substantially free of developing agents, is substantially unhardened, comprises one or more hydrophilic binders in an amount of at least 0.25 g/m.sup.2 and is in water permeable relationship with said image receiving layer.

    摘要: A process is disclosed for preparing a pre-press proof of an original subject having highlight, midtone and shadow tone areas using a color print paper wherein the dyes of the print paper are brought into substantial color compliance with the yellow, cyan and magenta process inks to be used in producing a lithographic reproduction of the original subject. The tonal range of the proof image is also extended to closely match that of the final printed product. After determining the densitometer readings for yellow, magenta and cyan through blue, green and red filters respectively for the print paper and the process inks, the print paper is exposed to light through each filter with an appropriate color separation halftone negative over the film and with combinations of filters being used for hue correction of the yellow, magenta and cyan film dye coupling dyes. A masked short scale yellow separation halftone negative is used to prepare a dye transfer matrix thereof, the image defining portions of tee matrix are dyed with a yellow transfer dye and the yellow is then transferred to the print paper sheet since the yellow coupling dye of the print paper has an excess of magenta and will not provide a true lemon-yellow color in the proof. Exposure of the print paper through color separation positives along with the same separation negatives through corresponding filters provides tone balance and allows compensation for dot gain in printing.

    摘要: A method for making a color proof in a photo-mechanical process. The method comprises a step for exposing a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material to light through a black-and-white halftone dot image, and a step for developing said silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material with a color developer. The photographic material is comprised of at least three silver halide emulsion layers which are different from each other in spectral sensitivity thereof, and at least one of these silver halide emulsion layers contains a specific yellow coupler and the color developer contains a specific color developing agent. A halftone color image having a color tone similar to that of image printed with printing inks can be obtained by the simplified process.

    摘要: A process for producing a continuous tone color image comprising providing a light sensitive photographic element comprising a substrate bearing three imaging media coated thereon, said imaging media comprising:(1) an imaging medium capable of forming a yellow image upon imagewise exposure and processing,(2) an imaging medium capable of forming a magenta image upon imagewise exposure and processing,(3) an imaging medium capable of forming a cyan image upon imagewise exposure and processing,each imaging medium having a maximum spectral sensitivity at a wavelength different from that of the maximum spectral sensitivity of the other imaging media within the range 550 to 900 nm, the sensitivities at the wavelength of maximum spectral sensitivity of the media decreasing in order from the medium of shortest wavelength maximum spectral sensitivity to the medium of longest wavelength maximum spectral sensitivity, the difference in said sensitivities between the media of shortest and longest wavelength maximum spectral sensitivity being greater than 0.8 log exposure units, exposing said element to three independently modulated sources each emitting radiation of a wavelength in the region of the wavelength of maximum sensitivity of a respective imaging medium, the maximum emission intensities of the sources at the wavelength of their maximum output increasing from the source of shortest wavelength to longest wavelength by an amount corresponding to the sensitivity difference of the imaging media, said exposures being conducted in scanning fashion and over a number of discrete exposure levels.
