摘要: An improved system and method for permitting a transmitting electronic device to indicate explicitly which streams in a multimedia stream being transmitted should not be synchronized or should include a specified amount of synchronization jitter. The present invention aids the receiving device in understanding the stream characteristics. The present invention also allows the receiving device to make an informed decision as to whether an synchronization jitter value should be used when synchronizing two or more streams. For certain applications such as uni-directional video sharing or video PoC, the sending device of the stream can indicate that the receiving device doesn't perform any or limited synchronization for better media quality.

摘要: Systems and methods enable a receiving device and its wireless network to set up resources optimally and efficiently. A sender device signals some of the negotiated QoS parameters to the receiving device of the session during the session set up procedure. The guaranteed bitrate, maximum bitrate, and transfer delay (which are negotiated along with other QoS parameters during PDP context activation) are signaled to the receiving device. New Session Description Protocol (SDP) attributes are defined for the above-mentioned QoS parameters, which are carried in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messages. The receiving device can use these SDP attributes to negotiate (or renegotiate) QoS parameters with its own wireless network during PDP activation. The receiving device can use these parameters to set resources accordingly, such as jitter buffers for audio and video media.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method, terminal device and conference server device for providing a multiparty conference in a data network, wherein an individual presentation layout for participants in a composite video image is selected by a participant and transmitted to the conference serving function. Based on the layout information, a composite signal is generated so that the requesting participant has knowledge of the locations of individual participants' information streams, e.g. video stream, within the composite signal. Thereby, the participant can allocate specific information, such as names, titles or functions, to audio or video streams of the multiparty conference.

摘要: Methods and systems for optimizing server polling by a mobile client are described, thereby allowing mobile terminals to conserve battery life by more efficiently using resources such as the processor and transceiver in the mobile terminal A broker system may be used to minimize wireless communication traffic used for polling. A broker stub intercepts server polling messages at the client, multiplexes the sever requests together, and forwards the multiplexed message to a broker skeleton that de-multiplexes and forwards the messages as appropriate. Polling may also be dynamically adapted based on user behavior, or a server guard may be used to monitor changes to data, and notify a client to poll its respective server when the server guard detects new or updated data on that server for that client.
