    摘要: A liquid developer is provided. The liquid developer includes a liquid insulator and toner particles. The liquid insulator toner particles include a resin material, a colorant, a substance A, a substance B, and a substance C. The substance A is an acrylic-modified silicone. The substance B is at least one selected from the group consisting a quaternary cationic silicone, an aminophenyl-modified silicone, and a phenyl-modified silicone. The substance C is at least one of a silanol-containing polysiloxane and a fluorine-modified silicone. The average degree of roundness R1 of the toner particles is 0.890 or greater, if the degree of roundness is expressed as L0/L1, where L1 (μm) is a circumference of a profile view of a measured particle and L0 (μm) is the circumference of a perfect circle of a circumference of a profile view corresponding to the profile view of the measured particle.

The liquid developer comprises an insulation liquid, toner particles dispersed in the insulation liquid, a dispersant dissolved in the insulation liquid; and a charge control agent dissolved in the insulation liquid. The charge control agent is represented by the following chemical formula (I): wherein in the chemical formula (I) R1 represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group having a carbon number in the range of 8 to 22, and R2 represents a hydroxyalkyl group. The liquid developer has both superior dispersibility and a charge characteristic of toner particles. Further, an image forming apparatus is also provided.

    摘要: A process for producing a toner for a liquid developer includes: preparing an emulsion liquid containing an aqueous dispersion medium and, dispersed therein, dispersoids containing a resin material which has an acidic group having a salt structure formed with a basic substance and has an acid value of from 5.0 to 20 mg KOH/mg when it is in a form of an acidic substance without forming a salt with the basic substance, a colorant and an organic solvent which dissolves the resin material; coalescing the dispersoids contained in the emulsion liquid to obtain coalescent particles; removing the organic solvent contained in the coalescent particles to obtain colored resin particles; washing the colored resin particles with an aqueous liquid (first washing step); dispersing the washed colored resin particles in an aqueous liquid and performing an acid treatment to obtain an acidic dispersion liquid having a hydrogen ion exponent (pH) adjusted to 3.0 to 6.0; washing the colored resin particles subjected to the acid treatment with an aqueous liquid (second washing step); and drying the colored resin particles subjected to the second washing step.

    摘要: A mass spectrometer is provided in which ions are favorably introduced into a loop orbit or favorably led out from the loop orbit without affecting the motion of the ions flying along the loop orbit. An ion-introduction orbit 5 is set to correspond to the orbit (ejection orbit portion 4) of ions after being bent by the sector-shaped electric field E1 in the loop orbit 4. When ions are introduced, a voltage applied to the electrode unit 11 is put to zero to release the sector-shaped electric field E1. Then the ions emitted along the ion-introduction orbit 5 fly straight in the electrode unit 11. The direction and position of the ions coming out from the exit end of the electric field is the same as those ions flying along the loop orbit 4. Therefore, there is no need for placing a deflection electrode for introducing/leading-out ions on the loop orbit.
