    摘要： To achieve the above objects, a communication apparatus for forming and outputting image data on the basis of data received via a network analyzes the contents of received electronic mail and extracts binary data encoded using character codes. The communication apparatus converts the extracted binary data into image data and outputs the data. The communication apparatus requests, where necessary, a server apparatus on the network to convert the binary data into the image data. If the conversion from the binary data into the image data is impossible, the communication apparatus reports this information to the source of the electronic mail in the same session as the electronic mail. The communication apparatus also generates a message from the reported information and transmits the message as electronic mail in a session other than the electronic mail.

    摘要： A confocal scanning microscope including: an objective system (second objective lens 23 and objective lens 24) illuminating a sample SA with illumination light; a scanning mechanism 31 scanning the sample SA to obtain an intensity signal; and a scanning optical system 32 provided between the scanning mechanism and the objective system. The scanning optical system composed of, in order from the scanning mechanism side, a first positive lens group G1, a second negative lens group G2, and a third positive lens group G3. The third lens group has two chromatic aberration correction portions each formed by a positive lens and a negative lens or negative lens and positive lens. Glass materials are selected such that one performs chromatization and the other performs achromatization, thereby providing a confocal scanning microscope capable of correcting lateral chromatic aberration generated in the objective system in the specific wavelength region by the scanning optical system.

In addition, the locknut and the ring gear face each other in an axial direction with a slight gap provided therebetween when the openings, respectively, of the first and second housings are connected to each other in the axial direction. Accordingly, even if the threaded connection of any one component of the locknut and the ring gear is loosened, the one component is prevented from moving by the other component.

    摘要： An information processing apparatus on a network stores data in the form of albums in each of which a plurality of data are archived, and the information processing apparatus provides stored albums to communication terminals via the network in an efficient manner. The information processing apparatus detects the device type of a communication terminal and determines whether a part or all of data included in an album should be provided at a time to the communication terminal, depending on the detected type of the communication terminal. This makes it possible even for a communication terminal having low communication performance to receive data via the network without encountering an error.
