    摘要: A magneto-optical head assembly for a reflection type magneto-optical memory apparatus uses a laser beam for recording, retrieving, and erasing data on a recording medium comprised of a vertical, magnetic, and anisotropic thin film. The light beam emitted from the head assembly is guided to a fixed position on said recording medium. Included are a light detection apparatus for receiving a control signal, and a separate light detection apparatus for receiving a data signal. A beam splitter, to which has been applied a multicoated thin film dielectric body capable of increasing the Kerr rotation angle of the laser beam reflected from the recording medium, is positioned in the optical system through which the laser beam passes.

    摘要: A magneto-optic memory medium comprises a reflector exhibiting reflectance for light used for information reproduction and a magneto-optic magnetization film disposed on the reflector. When light is applied for information reproduction, the light impinges on the magnetization film and reaches the reflector. The light reflected through the reflector and the magnetization film is of use for information reproduction. In a preferred form of the magneto-optic memory medium, there is deposited on a transparent substrate a magnetic film having an axis of easy magnetization perpendicular to its surface. The magnetization film is overlaid with a reflective coating which is shaped into a strip configuration.

    摘要: Disclosed is a new magnetic storage medium including a layer of amorphous material typically GdDyFe whose Curie recording point (e.g. 120.degree. C.) is lower than its crystallization point (e.g. 350.degree. C.) to enable crystallization to cause variations in its optical properties such as transmittance or reflectivity for thermomagnetic writing. Reversible recordings are set up on the amorphous material layer by a thermomagnetic writing technique, for example Curie point writing, while unchangeable or permanent recordings are set up on the amorphous material layer through laser-activated crystallization of the amorphous material layer.

    摘要: An optical memory disc medium contains a plurality of guide groove tracks. The guide groove tracks are arranged parallel to each other and they are used for controlling a position of a light beam. There is a land region between the guide groove tracks which is wider than the width of the guide groove tracks as measured in the disc-radial direction. Prepits for providing address information for the guide groove tracks are provided. The prepits are formed on the land regions and interposed between the lateral edges in the disc-radial direction of adjacent parallel guide groove tracks. Each prepit has a width which width is a narrower dimension than the width of each guide groove track as measured in the disc-radial direction.

    摘要: A magneto-optical memory apparatus for enhancing the recording density of a magneto-optical recording medium, thereby to increase its recording capacity. The magneto-optical recording medium having recording marks, each having two ends in which information is recorded. The apparatus also includes an optical head arranged such that at the time of recording onto the magneto-optical recording medium, the recording marks are recorded such that the ends of each recording mark correspond to a second code of digital information composed of two different types of codes; at the time of reproduction, a light beam having a condensing spot is projected to the magneto-optical recording medium and, when a reproduction light containing reproduction information is entered to the optical head from the magneto-optical recording medium, a reproduction signal is supplied; and when the light beam is projected to a recording mark, an information pulse corresponding to the second code is generated in the reproduction signal, only when the reproduction light from the recording mark interferes with the reproduction light from the non-marking part; and a signal detector circuit for detecting the information pulse in the reproduction signal obtained from the optical head and for converting the reproduction signal into a digital reproduction signal.
