    摘要: An improved vehicle rear-view mirror assembly of the type in which the mirror support arm is carried by means of at least one movable joint from the mounting part of the mirror assembly which is adapted to be secured to the bodywork of the vehicle includes a shroud of a resilient and flexible material mounted on the back of the mirror, and an extension having at least one movable joint with the end region of the extension in sealing relation with the mounting part, the extension enshrouded by a bellows-like tubular gaiter of flexible material. The shroud and the extension reduce the risk of injury to a person who may be accidentally hit by, or hit, the mirror assembly and the bellows-like gaiter also protects the movable joint or joints from dirt and moisture while readily flexing to allow the joint or joints to move or to be adjusted.

    摘要: An orthopaedic hinge mechanism has a body with at least one pivot and at least one hinge arm mounted thereon and having two cam abutment stops which arise from the said hinge arm either side of and close to the pivot.Screw adjustment means are housed in threaded holes in the hinge body in the plane of the hinge arms and may be driven down to impinge on the cam abutment stops. The plane of the operating surfaces of the cam abutment stops is at right angles to the axis of the motion limiting screws. The mechanism provides limiting and locking possibilities over a clinically useful range.

    摘要: A hip orthosis includes a hip engaging unit that can be secured to the contours of a human hip. An appendant orthotic member is formed to extend diagonally about and to be fixed to a human appendage. A connector assembly, with a support plate with a curved configuration at an anchor location to permit adjustment, interconnects the hip engaging member and the appendant member and includes an articulated joint member to control flexion, extension, abduction and adduction. The joint members can include an adjustable linkage system extending across and connected to both sides of the articulated joint. A first link member can be adjusted in length to control the movement of the articulated joint. An adjustable hinge member having a rotational axis which is offset by approximately 90° from a rotational axis of the articulate joint can be set to limit a range of flexion, while movement of the articulated joint provides either a controlled abduction or adduction movement Alternatively, the articulated joint can be formed by a roller and cam arrangement.

    摘要: Methods and computer readable media generate a page file representing a compact disc label sheet having label blanks thereon for one or both of a compact disc case or a compact disc. The sheet may have a label for one or both of the compact disc case and the compact disc. The method provides such sheet, wherein the sheet supports the labels at any of a plurality of locations. The sheet with the labels supported at particular locations define a particular geometric layout configuration. One or more images may also be on the sheet. Operations of the method optically accent the particular configuration, and then scan the optically accented configuration to generate a digital representation of the sheet. All of the images are then excluded from the digital representation so that the remaining digital representation represents only the labels. The remaining digital representation is analyzed to determine the location on the sheet of the labels. A new page file is created to represent the compact disc label sheet having the labels. The page file includes data as to the location on the sheet of the labels. Using the method, and computer readable media having program instructions for performing the method, a user may buy such sheets for which the user's label printing software has no corresponding page file, yet the user need not manually measure the locations of the labels that are on the purchased new sheet to provide label location data, and the user need not enter any label location data into a page file provided by the software.
