摘要： An automotive headlamp apparatus comprises: a lamp unit configured to be capable of forming an additional light distribution pattern that includes an upper area above the cut-off line of a light distribution pattern for low beam and that is divided into a plurality of individual patterns; and a controller configured to control formation of each of the individual patterns in accordance with presence of a forward vehicle. The controller reduces the illuminance of an individual pattern overlapping an area where a forward vehicle is present and increases the illuminance of at least one of other individual patterns.

The light source and the lens are mounted in a rotating element. Alternatively, the vehicular headlamp includes at least one a light source irradiating visible light, and a mirror mounted on a rotating element and arranged to reflect the visible light from the at least one light source to forward of a vehicle. The vehicular headlamp also includes a scanning actuator for reciprocatingly rotating the rotating element so as to form a light distribution pattern forward of the vehicle and a light distribution control portion for controlling the scanning actuator such that a portion of the light distribution pattern is relatively bright.

摘要： A vehicle lamp has a light source having an edge extending linearly, a first reflector, and a second reflector. The vehicle lamp forms a light distribution pattern having cut-off lines at an upper end section thereof by sequentially reflecting light from the light source using the first and second reflectors. An edge of the light source is disposed so as to extend in the horizontal direction. A first reflecting surface of the first reflector is formed of a curved surface, and shaped such that, when an image of the light source formed on the first reflecting surface of the first reflector is viewed from respective points on a first reflecting surface of the second reflector, an edge portion of the image of the light source corresponding to the edge of the light source appears to be inclined with respect to the horizontal direction.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus is provided with a conveying roller for conveying a recording sheet, and a carriage that enables a recording head for recording on the recording sheet by discharging ink droplets to the recording sheet to reciprocate in the direction intersecting the conveying direction of the recording medium along a guide shaft having a substantially circular lateral section. The bearing portion of the carriage is structured to be in contact with the guide shaft at two points A and B on the upstream side and downstream side in the aforesaid conveying direction with respect to the vertical line running through the center of the guide shaft. Each of angles θa and θb formed in the directions of tangential line and vertical line on the outer circumference of the guide shaft at the contact points A and B is set to make the frictional force generated between the guide shaft and the bearing portion larger than the force generated at the time of the carriage being accelerated to cause the bearing portion to slide in the circumferential direction of the guide shaft.

摘要： The present invention provides an image forming apparatus for forming an image by discharging liquid from a recording head onto a recording medium, comprising a carriage to which the recording head and a sub-tank for storing the liquid to be supplied to the recording head are mounted and which can be shifted reciprocally, a main tank disposed out of the carriage and adapted to store the liquid, a liquid flow passage connected between the main tank and the sub-tank in order to supply the liquid from the main tank to the sub-tank, a flow passage opening/closing valve disposed in the liquid flow passage on the way and adapted to open and close the liquid flow passage, and control means for controlling opening/closing of the flow passage opening/closing valve in accordance with an image forming condition during image formation using the recording head.
