摘要: Systems are described for controlling electrical (typically unautomated electrical) devices with a programmed control module including electronic memory and a computer processor together with a selection of purpose-specific cables selected from any of infrared IR (send and/or receive), serial cables, power cables, sensor cables or others. One such additional example is a relay/contact-closure cable includes circuitry for modifying its communication parameters and/or providing a power boost for expanded power-intensive uses. A serial cable includes circuitry for modifying its gender and/or other communication parameters. A system or kit includes the cable and a conversion connector to physically alter cable connection gender. Such a system or kit may also include the control module.

摘要: The present invention relates to a DSL method having preferably DMT frequency bands, which, contrary to the known arrangement having permanently associated upload and download channels, according to the invention comprises universal upload/download frequency channels UUDS (Universal Upload Download Channel) for the optional usage in each traffic direction. The selection and use of the channels for a traffic direction is carried out dynamically during the operation and preferably automatically according to the respectively pending transmission load with application-specific bandwidth adaptation, for example for download and upload applications, voice transmission, video conference, IP-TV and so forth. A particularly advantageous variant (DLC-ADSL, Dynamic Reverse Profile ADSL) is based on the known ADSL standardization with HDP profile (High Download Profile; fast download, slow upload) and an additional inverse profile with switched traffic direction of the transmission channels HUP (High Upload Profile; fast upload, slow download), wherein a switch can be easily carried out between them with a simple command sequence. A symmetrical profile, for example voice, image telephone, peer-to-peer computer coupling and the like, can be a further useful addition.

摘要: The present invention suggests the introduction of an additional protocol element for a preventive display of transmission costs in the case of Internet and on-line services, at least for the transmission of larger quantities of data, such as, for example FTP files, sent by the provider, which can, at least, contain the scope of the data in the pending transmission, as well as other price criteria, optionally, which is recognized as such by the nodes (routers) that are involved in the transmission, and which may be expanded by its own proportional transmission prices, such that, ultimately, in the recipient's PC, on the browser for example, an evaluation of the protocol element, with a display of the costs, accordingly, appears on the screen, after which the subscriber can institute a transmission or disrupt it and optionally, take additional measures, such as, for example, activating the automatic instigation of the transmission at a later, more favorable time from the standpoint of costs. In particular, the introduction of the protocol element for all pending transmissions of data, including, for example, HTML pages, makes sense as an option that affords protection against the senseless delivery of large numbers of illustrated pages, especially in cases of rapid Internet access.

摘要: A device for applying a treatment liquid to a moving web of material such as a textile web includes a drum that is rotatable around a horizontal axis. At least one guide roller is provided for guiding the fabric web such that the web wraps at least partially around the drum beginning at a side of the drum at which the web is disposed tangentially thereto and continuing around a bottom portion of the drum. A trailing, continuous band is also provided which is closed in a liquid-tight manner and circulates in a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of the drum. The band has an outer circumferential surface that fits closely on the fabric web at a location in which the web contacts the drum. The circumferential surface of the band and drum define a nip therebetween. The band seals off the nip at its bottom. The band has web segments forming lateral sealing elements which extend from the edges of the band to project outwardly. The segments have a side abutting a contact surface formed at the rim of the drum. The segments, which also extend in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the drum, axially seal off the nip. A feed device is provided for supplying treatment liquid to maintain a predetermined filling level of treatment liquid in the nip.

摘要: An optical system for transmitting data between stationary part and a rotating part, such as for transmitting data from the rotating live ring in a computer tomography apparatus, has a number of light transmitter arranged on a circle on one of the parts, with the radiation output of the light transmitters being modulated according to the data to be transmitted, and a light receiver disposed on the other part. The light transmitters emit thin, fan-shaped light beams, each of the light beams being in a plane which is defined by the circle, or parallel thereto. Each fan-shaped light beam has a central ray disposed at an angle relative to a radius of the circle, and the light receiver is disposed relative to the circle and the light transmitters so that the light receiver is within the light beam of at least one light transmitter at every position of the rotating part, and thus supplies a constant output signal, given a constant transmitted signal, during rotation.
