Abstract:
An agricultural bale accumulator (100) includes a load bed (113) and a load bed extension module (102). The load bed extension module (102) includes an extension table (104) pivotally connected to a side (124) of a load bed (113) by a hinge mechanism (122). The hinge mechanism (122) permits the load bed extension module (102) to move relative to the load bed (113) between a stowed position, perpendicular to the load bed (113), and an unstowed position, co-planar with a load bed (113) and adjacent to the side (124) of the load bed (113). The agricultural bale accumulator (100) has a first lateral width dimension (160) when the first extension table (104) is in the stowed position to provide a first bale accumulating capacity and a first bale discharging capacity. The agricultural bale accumulator (100) has a second lateral width dimension (161), greater than the first lateral width dimension (160), when the first extension table (104) is in the unstowed position to provide a second bale accumulating capacity and a second bale discharging capacity, greater than the first bale accumulating capacity and the second bale discharging capacity, respectively. Optionally, an extension table support system (130) may also be used to provide additional support for the extension table (104).
Abstract:
A telecommunications system (600) distributes text-to-speech synthesis (900) between a telephone network (603) and a telephone subscriber unit (602). The telephone network (603) receives (1102) a telephone call from a first telephone subscriber unit (601) over a first communication channel (604) intended for a second telephone subscriber unit (602), determines (1103) that the second telephone subscriber unit (602) subscribes to a speech-based caller identification service provided by the telephone network (603), converts (1107) text information (707), representing the caller identification of the first telephone subscriber unit (601) into symbols (708), encodes (1108) the symbols (708) to form a data stream (709), opens (1109) a second communication channel (605) between the telephone network (603) and the second telephone subscriber unit (602), and sends (1110) the data stream (709) to the second telephone subscriber unit (602) over the second communication channel (605). The second telephone subscriber unit (602) detects (1202) that the telephone network (603) opened the second communication channel (605), receives (1203) the data stream (807) from the telephone network (603), decodes (1206) the data stream (807) to form decoded symbols (808), converts (1207) the decoded symbols (808) to form a speech waveform (809), and generates (1211) speech from the speech waveform (809) to permit a second party associated with the second telephone subscriber unit (602) to listen to the speech to identify an identity of a first party associated with the first telephone subscriber unit (601) prior to accepting the telephone call from the first telephone subscriber unit (601). The symbols (708) may be generated at various points (909, 910) within the distributed text-to-speech synthesizer (900) depending on: the requirements and limitations of the telecommunication system (600).
Abstract:
A telephone subscriber unit (22) includes a caller identification device (120), a memory unit (114), a pre-processor (124) and a text-to-speech synthesizer (TTS) (110). The caller identification device (120) receives caller ID information of a calling party in a first textual format and stores the caller ID information in the memory unit (114) The pre-processor (124) converts textual caller ID information from the first data format to a second data format suitable for text-to-speech synthesis by the text-to-speech synthesizer (110). The text-to-speech synthesizer (110) generates audible caller ID information responsive to receiving the textual caller information.
Abstract:
Prior to placing a call, a receiver (24) in a radio (10) receives a phone number transmitted by a calling party to produce a received phone number (38). The received phone number (38) is stored in a memory unit (16) of the radio (10). Numeric digits forming a prefix number (40) are inserted before the received phone number (38) in the memory unit (16) responsive to a number of digits in the received phone number (38) to produce an edited phone number (39). A transmitter (20) in the radio (10) transmits the edited phone number (39) to place the call to the received phone number (38). This method for editing a received phone number (38) prior to placing a call to the received phone number (38) advantageously simplifies the dialing process when placing the call to the received phone number (38).
Abstract:
An agricultural bale accumulator includes a load bed, a bale transfer module, and a bale discharge module. The load bed includes center, right and left load beds, adapted to receive and accumulate thereon first, second and third bales, respectively, from a bale chamber of an agricultural baler along a bale-receiving axis. The bale transfer module alternately transfers the bales across the load bed from the center load bed to the right load bed or the left load bed along a bale transfer axis, transverse to the bale receiving axis, responsive to a bale transfer signal to accumulate the bales on the center, right, and the left load beds in a side-by-side relationship. The bale discharge module moves between a bale accumulating position and a bale discharging position responsive to a bale discharge signal. The bale discharge module moves to the bale accumulating position to accumulate the bales on the load bed. The bale discharge module moves from the bale accumulating position to the bale discharging position to discharge at least the first bale received and accumulated on the center load bed to the ground surface.

Abstract:
A telephone set (10) comprises a first housing (12), a second housing (14), a rotate (54) or a slide (34) mechanism, a microphone (16), an earpiece (18) and a keypad (20). The rotate (54) or the slide (34) mechanism couples the first housing (12) to the second housing (14) and permits the first housing (12) to be moveable relative to the second housing (14) between a first, closed or contracted, position (22) and a second, open or expanded, position (24). The microphone (16) is carried by the first housing (12) and is adapted to convert an acoustic input signal (26) into an electric input signal (28). The earpiece (18) is carried by the second housing (14) and is adapted to convert an electric output signal (30) into an acoustic output signal. The keypad (20) is carried by one of the first housing (12) and the second housing (14) and has an aperture (32) extending therethrough. In a first embodiment, the earpiece (18) is disposed behind the keypad (20) essentially opposite to the aperture (32) of the keypad (20) when the keypad (20) is carried by the second housing (14) to permit the acoustic output signal generated by the earpiece (18) to be ported through the aperture (32) of the keypad (20). In a second embodiment, the microphone (16) is disposed behind the keypad (20) essentially opposite to the aperture (32) of the keypad (20) when the keypad (20) is carried by the first housing (12) to permit the acoustic input signal (26) to be ported through the aperture (32) of the keypad (20) to be received by the microphone (16). The present invention advantageously permits the telephone set (10) to be made shorter by integrating the microphone (16) or the earpiece (18) with the keypad (20).
